Guest guest
Hi all. I posted just about a year ago under the topic 'Test for Hyperthyroidism'. I am very thankful for all the advice given from so many members on this forum. Just to recap, I was frequently overly hot/sweating and had an aversion to heat and suffered from chronic fatigue. Several TCM doctors diagnosed my condition as spleen deficiency with damp heat. Since posting here, (despite having an aversion to heat) I actually realised that I feel cold most of the time and this may be due to a poor circulation. Therefore I figured that it was possible that I had such a reaction to heat because I was too cold most of the time. I recently visited another TCM practitioner with a maybe a fresh personal understanding of my problem. The feeling of hotness and sweating usually is on my face and scalp whilst the rest of my body tends to feel cold. I've have noticed that frequently it is brought on by stress. I also catch a cold very easily in the winter and another thing i did mention to my doctor was that I would feel very weak and cold after ejaculation. My TCM doctor prescribed me 'Nan Bao' and 'Jin Kui Shen Qi Wan', diagnosing that my kidney yang was insufficient and that there was a deficieny therefore the difference in temperature between my face and my body. The doctor said that the heat and sweating that I have been feeling could be due to stress and that even when cold, I was stressed. It is only in warm places where those feelings of stress are more pronounced. I do tend to badger my TCM doctor to explain everything in detail. He explained that the kidney supports the liver (responsible for emotions) which in turn supports the spleen. Therefore if my kidneys were stronger, they would help the liver to control emotions and deal with the stress. I've taken 'Nao Bao' and 'Jin Kui Shen Qi Wan' for about 3 weeks now. I noticed a big difference after the first week (less aversion to cold) but since then its been so-so. I've just caught another cold and still feel very hot when I am stressed. The doctor tells me to continue the medication for at least a month. I would appreciate what people think of my condition and the doctor's analysis.
