Guest guest
Hi - I practice acupuncture and Chinese herbs in Australia and I was wondering if anyone could help me. One of my clients asked me the other day what I thought the TCM implications were of having a vasectomy. I explained about blocking the flow of the meridians, especially the Liver etc etc, however as the majority of my clients are female I have not been able to observe both the short and long term physical and emotional consequences of this very common operation. Some of my thoughts are that it would cause a stagnation of Liver qi, impede the flow of the Ren Mai and from this, at the very least, cause alot of anger. On the flipside, because the sperm is being preserved - literally being reabsorbed by the body - does this mean that the Jing is also being preserved?? I'm not sure about that last bit, however the more I thought about this the further deeper it becomes. I would very much appreciate any thoughts on this topic, or any suggested reading. Thank you - happy treatments.
