Guest guest
What is the TCM idea on prolapsed bladder ?? I have a cousin that is scheduled for surgery next week to tuck the bladder back up ............she has asked me if there is anything " natural " that could be done instead of her having the surgery........... From what I have found, prolapse comes from spleen energy not being able to travel upwards. any ideas on this would be helpful......... blessings, Marlene
Guest guest
Marlene: There certainly are natural methods that can be used, depending upon the extent of the prolapse. In general, acupuncture of the Bai Hui points on the crown of the skull helps different types of prolapse, including rectal prolapse and prolapse of the uterus. I'll try to find some exact reference material for you. My opinion is that many of these surgeries are unnecessary and that acupuncture ought be tried before any type of surgery. Once the bladder or parts of the bladder are removed or cut, the parts can't be put back in. With the bladder still intact, it may respond to acupuncture, massage or herbs. Guest guest
Prolapsed bladder? It must really be bothering your cousin if its reached the point that Western dr.s are recommending surgery. Along with the therapies Bob suggested we need to consider the quality of life the client currently has and how long she is willing to pursue physical correction. I venture to suggest, perhaps what it would take to physically correct the prolapsed bladder without surgery might be more or not fast enough to accept for you cousin. Should she accept surgery, the etiology of the disfunction which is why the bladder prolapsed in the first place will energetically still be there. Right now the Bladder prolapsing is the most obvious physical symptom. If the energetic balance isn't dealt with there are more physical symptoms that can arise. Dealing with the correction of just the energetic balance might be challenge enough. Penel
