Guest guest
Does it list the ingredients on the bottle? Pai Shi Wan is roughly expel stone pill. Not familiar with the Shen Jie... It may be an off brand or from a small company. Looking at the general herbs used in this type of formula I would not expect a raise in Bp but feeling lousy is definately possible. Also you may experience loose stools and dull headaches. If your symptoms are getting worse you may have a kidney infection or a stuck stone, which might cause an increase in Bp or more severe headache. I would expect to see very tender in mid back under the floating ribs, pain on urination with a cloudy yellow stream. If stuck stone reduced urine flow, yellow/red color fullness in abdomen and pain. If it is not a reputable brand of herbs, there could be all kinds of issues in relationship to the herbs. In a deficient body-constitution this recipe might aggravate an existing deficiency as it contains blood cooling (anti-infectious), diuretic, dredging herbs. If the urin flow is blocked, dark yellow, bloody, scanty this recipe makes sense. In a chronic situation with recurrent stones stemming from kidney(shen)-deficiency this recipe is contraindicated and might lead to kidney(shen)-cold, aggravate the deficiency syndrome by using up too much Qi and draining too many yin-fluids leading to side effects you mentioned (qi/yin deficiency with qi- deficiency headaches, yin deficiency HBP). This is just a chinese medical theory how things *might* be, your case might be different (reactions with other medicals you take, ingredients you are allergic to etc etc).
