I was able to find some articles which may be helpful: TREATING SCLERODERMA WITH CHINESE HERBS by Subhuti Dharmananda, Ph.D., Director, Institute for Traditional Medicine, Portland, Oregon http://www.itmonline.org/arts/scleroderma.htm Scleroderma and Traditional in China http://www.tcmtreatment.com/images/diseases/scleroderma.htm The second link is the most basic. The first has more in-depth, professional information. Keep in mind while reading both that scleroderma can have different TCM Roots. Fix the TCM Roots in your mind. Maybe even make a list of the possible Roots which can underlie sleroderma. I also recommend checking the Edgar Cayce material on scleroderma. He gave a number of readings on the condition as someone close to him had it. Keep in mind the possible TCM Roots as you read the Cayce material. A lot of stuff will click into place. OVERVIEW OF SCLERODERMA: http://www.edgarcayce.org/health/database/chdata/data/prscle3.html Edgar Cayce's Scleroderma Treatment: Case Studies http://www.webspawner.com/users/sclerodermacases/ There is an amazing overlap between what TCM and an American psychic had to say about scleroderma back in the first half of the 20th. century. (However he got his information, Cayce has an amazing track record on healing info. Some of the treatments and guides for health that were revolutionary when he first uttered them have since become standard medical treatment and advice, discovered in many cases independently by health care professionals and in other cases substantiated by them.) One of the main Roots that is mentioned in the TCM literature is Blood imbalance. Cayce also emphasized the role of " sick " blood. Blood that no longer could perform its functions properly. TCM talks about Kidney imbalance in some of these cases. The TCM concept of the Kidneys includes many of the functions of the adrenal glands and other endocrine glands. Note the Cayce references to glandular imbalanes. Also refer back to the post I did earlier today on Jing, particularly the section about Kidney Jing. One of the symptoms of Kidney Jing Deficiency is premature aging. The TCM material talks about Spleen Deficiency in some of these cases; the Cayce material talks about the need for proper nutrition. I want to go into one of the nutritional treatments mentioned in the Cayce material: Beef juice. It's prepared by placing small cubes of lean beef into a glass jar - like a canning jar, covering it loosely (like with a canning lid not completely screwed down), placing the jar into water in a pot, and heating the pot. A type of double- boiler. As the water boils or simmers, the juice will come out of the beef. Beef juice is one of the most nutritious and easily assimilated foods there is. Both nutrition and assimilation are important. It doesn't matter how nutritious a food is if the body can't assimilate the nutrition. Beef juice is particularly good when a person has digestive problems, especially assimilation problems. From a TCM standpoint, the Spleen and Stomach are weak. It's not only good for humans, it's good for any carnivoires. Like dogs and cats. When they are very sick and not eating, it can be fed via a medicine dropper. The castor oil packs have been discussed on here before, but the quickest and easiest way to get info on them would be to Google for it. (The search function in the message base on here leaves a lot to be desired.) Since castor oil packs are used in a number of conditions, a reminder that they are contraindicated when a woman is having her period and in cases of cancer. They fight work to help the body to fight infection and to increase lymph flow (cleansing). It's best that your sister-in-law consult a trained TCM healer if one is available as scleroderma is a fairly complex condition. Due to the nature and seriousness of this condition, she is going to have to be very much a partner in her healing. This is not something that one can be passive about, content to just take a pill that someone prescribes. For a while her career is going to have to be treating her sclerodrma, learning all she can about it, talking with others that have it, changing her diet, and doing the other things which are recommended like the castor oil packs, the Qi Gong exercises, brewing up the TCM herbal teas, etc. A general comment to the healers on the list. Different healers have different areas of expertise. Very often what leads to a healer becoming an expert in a particular disease or medical condition is that someone close to the healer or future healer develops it. For example, one D.O. I used to see was an expert on treating asthma because his mother had it. Something else that can lead a healer into becoming an expert on a particular condition is that the healer or future healer witnesses a dramatic turn-around in someone with the condition. Guest guest
Thank you so much for your response Victoria, I really appreciate it I had of course been talking to her and sharing things with her all along. She is a chemist and has an extensive background as a professional, so she takes a dim view of the information I share with her. I have been copying and pasting, sending her info , but she really is in a bad way she cannot sat at the pc. She is argumentative by nature and I have not the skills nor the inclination to do so. You have to want the info and the help, she does want the help she has moved to near a mayo clinic and al;Al they are doing is taking her money. she complains about her legs all the time but the thing that hurts me is the cough, I just wish I could help with that it is awful and I cannot stand to talk to her because of it it make me cry because you know that it hurts and she can't stop it. I really would appreciate any comments that you all have to contribute. In reality she needs someone to stay with her and care for her, they gave her two yrs to live and one is gone. she is taking all sorts of meds, but one cost he 5,000 a mth! can you believe that? I sent the latest post by Vinod on jing to her , well I sent them all hoping she will get the connection, I hope that is no violation of list protocol, or anything , is it? If so I'll stop, I doubt she reads them anyway. I am trying to find an approach that will reach her and open her mind up to the possibilities. thanks again to you Victoria and to anyone else who take the time to respond. Sincerely Rabiah
