permanence of chinese herbal treatments

Dear Friends,

I am a new member to the group. Recently, I have started treatment with a TCM

practitioner for stubborn facial rash called rosacea. This is brought about by

stress and certain heat-inducing foods. It's early yet, but I was wondering to

what extent the treatment will fundamentally alter my body chemistry. Is this

a permanent sort of change to my Yang and my Blood? I understood that rashes and

the like are due to too much yang so cooling herbs are important. My doctor

says that after a month or two, it should be gone and I will be able to eat

hotter and spicier foods (currently I am on one of the blandest diets

imaginable).

So my question is how long will the intensive herbal treatment be good for, and

to what extent will have to have take periodic courses of cooling herbs to

combat the tendency of my body to have too much Yang?

many thanks,

Chris
