Guest guest
As far as I know, yeast is a form of dampness, and is part of TCM. I know b/c one acupuncturist said I had candida, and I spent a good deal of time making sure I didn't have candida. it seems to be overdiagnosed, esp'ly online. Some of the dr's in the back of Crook's book are covered by insurance, but watch out, most of them are wacky and unprofessional. I don't want to give out names, but one in Pennsylvania had me fill out a detailed questionnaire, and his secretary typed the ENTIRE thing in (1 hr) while I waited with an empty stomach. Then the dr. typed the rest of it in using 2 fingers while I waited -- and his phone kept ringing (and me w/o coffee or food and intensely irritated by the noise!). He ended up doing a worthless blood test, and I went through a lot of trouble getting another test through another lab. 2 other " yeast drs " were also lacking, and were referred through either the Great Plains or Great Smokies labs, both of which test for yeast. One kept me waiting for nearly 2 hrs, and was especially goofy, kept falling asleep, and gave details about sex he had in college. He reminded me perfectly of a popular smut movie from the early '70's I hadn't seen in 20 years. His office still owes me $20 and I doubt I'll ever get it. The last has a health program on the radio, was a bit of a firebrand, and was obsessed with yeast. He said to take Diflucan indefinitely, saying it would kill everything in time. I'd since gotten a yeast test which showed no yeast, and he never returned my calls. Diflucan, by the way, is harsh on the liver, and medical texts say to take it for only 15 days, not for sev'l months. My advice: Be Very Very Careful.
