Guest guest
For readers new to TCM: Yin cools, calms, and moistens. People who are Yin Deficient feel too hot, have trouble cooling down, and frequently are aggitated. They have a lot of nervous energy and may keep going even though they are tired. At least they keep going until a crisis stage is reached. Collapse of Yin is extreme Yin Deficiency. Giovanni Maciocia in The Foundations of has this to say about Collapse of Yin: " The main manifestations are abundant perspiration, skin hot to the touch, hot limbs, a dry mouth with desire to drink cold liquids in small sips, retention of urine, constipation, a Floating-Empty and Rapid pulse and a Red-Peeled, Short and Dry tongue. " (pp. 188-189.)
