If nothing is done, this woman gets sicker. Due to her nature, at this point she flatly refuses to see a professional TCM healer. She thinks it's all nonsense. It doesn't fit within what are established procedures for her. Remember the point Penel made about the very rigid protocol being the way metal types sometimes cope? This is a woman who is numbering all her pills with what she thinks is a non-toxic marker. She's writing on the pills themselves. I can't imagine a need for protocol being any more extreme. No one is thinking in terms of Jim curing her. Least of all Jim. What is being sought is some slight improvement. Some relief hopefully will be enough to get through the rigid protocol so that she will agree to see a professional TCM healer. Penel has commented that it's surprising that she's agreeing for Jim to help her. For one thing, they've known each other and have worked together for years. She trusts him. For another, he's already provided her with some relief for her cramps with massage and acupressure. The cramps were severe enough that some relief was able to get through the rigid protocol. At least in regards to Jim and her cramps. So the question is, does one do nothing - and allow the person to keep getting sicker - or does one provide a little relief that hopefully will impress the person enough that she will see a professional TCM healer? The question then becomes what will provide some relief and is also relatively safe? Please correct me if I am wrong, but the main thing to consider in terms of not making the person sicker is Hot/ Cold. There are a lot of other things as well, but the biggie or one of the biggies is Hot/ Cold. This can be so critical that in some cases Heating what is already too Hot or cooling what is already too Cold can result in death.
