hey doc, thanks for the input. i need to give you the full health picture

for you to do proper diagnostic.I am not comfortable with exposing my complete

medical history to the list so I am sending this privately.

My tongue is ususally fat with gentle tooth indentations,(denture

indentations) usually light pink with a white coat mostly on the dry side,

sometimes

there is creamy, damp yellow in the center, there is a fissure in the center

of the area near the tip (lung area) it is transverse looks like it statred

from one stem and branched off into two fissures. when I take the pain

medication for my leg or back the tip of my toungue turns red and I sometimes

have

palpatations. the underside of my tongue doesn't show a lot of veins and there

is a short crack near the tip which i have always considered to be in the

lung area there is also a small circle or gray that is more visible at times

than others near the tip of my tongue ,in the heart area on the right side. the

underside of my tongue is not full of veins at all.

this morning my tongue has no coat, butthe center of the body has a bluegreen

cast, the body is a deep pink,i have not eaten anyting save water since

yesterday afternoon though.

ther are no bags dark spots or anything under my eyes. but I do have a huge

arched shaped lighter spot in the center of my forhead while the sides of my

forhead are a dark grayish green.

Wow, that is awesome, really! I have been hitting and missing signs and

symptopms for a year now, and come upon evrything you said except the lung. I

could not believe there was really a problem within my lungs, I am a metal type

person though. This lessen in step by step diagnostics goes to show what a

trained professional can accomplish .I am totally inspired to step up my

personal quest to become a lac pratitioner.

thanks again

from all the posts and this one, the pattern seems to be:

LU as primary

LV as secondary

K as tertiary

primary will almost always be in a yin deficient state

primary will almost always be in a yang excess state

primary will almost always be in a qi deficient state

LU accounts for LU Heat, which is LU Dryness, and very many breath and

skin symptoms

LV accounts for LV Yin Blood Deficient, and very many channel and organ

oriented symptoms

K accounts for Water Dry, which is Bone and Cartilage Dryness, and very

many knee and spine symptoms

the real problem is in LU

the consequent problems will be in LV

the incidental problems will be in K

now to the knees:

of course you understand that what i write is *solely educational and

not diagnostic*, someone has to

confirm and diagnose professionally on the spot

however a sound systemic approach would be:

step 1. support LU or Metal yin

[tone LU 1 & 2, BL 12 & 13, LU 7. work on LI 11 by even handed stimulation]

step 2. balance LV Blood and harness LV yang, which is GB yang

[reduce LV 2, LV 3, GB 39; work the back shu of LV etc]

step 3. local approach on or near knee:

a. work on SP 3, then 6 and then 9, toning each one, going from below to

above

[sP here will take place of LU by Up & Down Law]

b. work on GB 34 and any local tender point on or near GB vessel ,

downward tendency

[GB here will replace the LV connection]

c. work on any local point which may be:

tender - stuck qi

numb - deficient qi

heated - from LU which tend to Dry, from LV which tends to Heat

cold - from K Water which tends to Cold

fib rosed - from LU which tends to holding form

style: always gentle, if needles, very shallow, if pressure, always soft

but sure

step 4. have someone work on elbows, there will be many tender points,

when these are

assuaged, knees will be relieved

parameters of success on knee:

less pain, later no pain

more flexibility

more weight bearing

more personal freedom of movement

moxa: this should be either by japanese thread style or otherwise guardedly

if your system is Heated, no moxa by stick

if your system is cool or cold, yes moxa by stick

thread is fine at any time, but this must be real thread style

what is your real pathology?

that a Dry LU has caused a Dry cartilage

emotionally: work with something stuck into your system since forever,

Metal Grief is

unyilding, and buried out of sight

This is one of the most amazing things about TCM to me. I thought

my kidneys were fine. In fact, I thought my kidneys were one of the

few things in me that weren't messed up. As it turned out, the

Kidneys were by far the worst problem I had. It was like an obvious

standout to someone trained in TCM.

The TCM herbalist I saw, also asked me a lot of questions. They

were grouped according to Organs. When it came to the Kidney

section, I answered " yes " to just about every quesiton in that

section. Including the one about a history of trouble with the ears

and hearing. Yeah, there had been some minor problems with the

kidneys, but they were so " mild " (unimportant) and/or so occasional.

Like the profuse and clear urination. Didn't that mean my kidneys

were working just fine? No. Not the Kidneys. Looking back, so much

was so obvious to someone trained in TCM. And it all fit into place.

All those seemingly unrelated and often unimportant symptoms (by

Western criteria) turned out to have been related and very important

pieces of the clinical picture. It was also a great relief to not

hear " I don't know what it means; it isn't important " as I got

sicker and sicker, and instead hear in so many words, " That's just

Kidney Yang Deficiency. The Chinese have known about it for

centuries. They know how to treat it. " My health problems turned out

not to be so mysterious and puzzling (and untreatable) after all.
