Michelle,

Would you be kind enough to elaborate on how to do the " ginger bath?:

Thank you.

Re: Kidney Yang & Kidney Yin Deficiency

Thank you...this helps me understand my cycle with the blankets at night. I am

essence, blood and chi deficient. One of the things that helps some of my

symptoms is a steaming hot ginger bath for 30 minutes followed by a cold towel

wrap with a wool blanket and other blankets over that for an hour or more. This

takes away abdomen pain and gives me more energy. I believe it is because of

blood stagnation?? Dunno, but it helps.

Sure:

Run the bath as hot as you can stand it. Sprinkle ginger in: enough to color

the water.

Have a towel soaking in the sink in cold tap water.

Put plastic down on the bed, then the wool blanket (I fold mine in half so it's

double thickness) so it is already to wrap yourself in.

Have bedding folded down so you can flip it over yourself on top of the wool

blanket.

Soak 30 minutes in the hot bath.

Wring out the cold towel, not so it's too dry, not soppy wet.

Wrap it around your torso, from armpits to crotch.

Wrap up in wool blanket, flip the covers over you and take a nap for an hour or

more.

(you should check after five minutes to make sure your body is warming up the

towel; if not, try again later)

After the first gasp of the cold towel it's not too bad and after getting in the

wool and quilts, I drift off quickly to sleep or to a meditative place.

For me the results are dramatice the next day and really dramatic the 2nd day.

Sometimes it is someone else who tells me my color and energy are better. It is

the pain I am usually focusing on.
