Guest guest
Hi Everyone, May I ask if anyone has any thoughts on the use of cupping as opposed to acupuncture? I'm being treated for depression and anxiety, which has manifested in a shen disturbance, and severe spleen and kidney qi deficiency. You've all been so supportive over the last few months, and at last, I'm finally feeling a bit better. My new doctor asked if I'd tried cupping before, and when I said I hadn't, he mentioned that it can " really get things moving. " I'm assuming he means it gets stagnant the qi " moving " , but can anyone tell me anymore about it? I see the doctor again next week, and am assuming it's my decision whether to try it or not. Even a little improvement has been so long (11 months) in coming, that I'm afraid of back sliding. Can a person safely skip an acupuncture treatment and have cupping instead? Should I stay with what I know a little longer before trying something new, or is it maybe way past time, and I should have done it a while back? Does anyone with experience in TCM to treat emotional issues have any thoughts on when it's preferable to use cupping over acupuncture, or should I be brave (not easy with weak shen) and maybe just try it an interesting experiment. Thanks as always to all of you! Linda
Guest guest
Personally we often times use acupuncture and cupping together. It can be used for a variety of aliments, and generally great for stress. There are a number of ways to do it, fixed, moving, flash, and bleeding. Fixed cupping usually leavesa round bruise (we call them love bites..)Moving cupping can vary from no markes to long bruises that last for a few days. It is generally a pleasant experience ( I taught my wife how to do it for stress). I have some info and pictures on my website www.acuherbals.com Bob Linde, AP, RH (AHG) St. Pete FL keats65 <keats65 wrote: Hi Everyone, May I ask if anyone has any thoughts on the use of cupping as opposed to acupuncture?
