Guest guest
Hi I have been suffering with generalised edema (mainly waist down) for the best part of 20 years but it has only recently been diagnosed. To the best of my knowledge my heart and kidneys are functioning nprmally. I have been diagnosed as Spleen Qi and Kidney Yang deficient. I have a very slippery pulse and my tongue is a little swollen with quite a thick yellowy/white coating and a central crack. I have also been having regular lymph drainage massage for the last 6 months and whilst this has helped enormously to soften the tissues (esp. in my legs) I do not seem able to expel the excess fluid. I have been consulting a Naturopath who practices TCM and homeopathy. She has treated me mainly with accupuncture, homeopathy and tissue salts (Nat Mur, Kali Sulph and Silicea). Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might progress my treatment in order to start seeing results. I have a tendency to get a little depressed from time to time as a result of my size and inability to influence it. Thanks in anticipation Melissa
Guest guest
Mellisa, Please ask the health practitioner that you are seeing if they think the herb horse chestnut would benefit you. It helps remove water from the body and especially targets the circulation in the legs. So it is a diuretic. My husband takes this because his legs feel heavy and painful. It is a remedy for varicose veins, which he has also. Not only did the inflammation in his legs go away but the swelling that came with it went away also. He takes 1 tablet every day. Maybe too the swelling in your legs is related to lymph fluid. I didn't find horse chestnut to be helpful for this. But my husband had an injury on his one leg and it develops fluid build up from time to time. I massage his legs for some relief but what helps allot is this laser therapy he got. We visited our Chiropractor for adjustments and my husband had been complaining about some knee problem. The Chiropractor treated his knee pain and by the second week his leg got slimmer around the ankle and he kept saying how good that leg felt. Seemed to move the lymph in his leg really well. Guest guest
Melly: Have you ever tried or heard of Qu shi cha (expel damp tea)? This comes from Guangxi province, is sold in Guangzhou, but I am unaware whether it is sold abroad. The right variety will help expel the damp. This has proven quite helpful for me here in the hot south China summers. Excessive damp is one of my problems. Guest guest
Hi Melly, For the conditon you described(tongue, diagnosis, etc), Spleen3,sp.9,st36,bl20,bl23,kd7,st40,st28,ren4(moxa),ren5(alarmTH-lower),Du20. I post these to you, despite you stating that you do AC. because there are many ways of doing an AC treatment, some concentrate on symptoms, others on root causes, others on both, and many more different approaches, these go as a suggestion...
