One very important point on Reishi use. The alleopaths have developed

many drugs to resensitize the insulin receptor sites in type2

diabetes, hypoglycemia, and Syndrome X (insulin resistance) - such as

Metformin - but Reishi does the same thing (dissolve the crosslinking

at the receptor sites) more effeciantly and without the many potential

side-effects of Metformin - Reishi will take longer to work (one study

shows that it takes about one year to heal and resenstitise the

insulin receptor sites with Reishi) but the cure is safer and more

sure than the alleopathic medicines. In such cases I always use

cordyceps and reishi together.

Those interested in balancing brain chemistry should read dr.

Braverman's book 'The Edge Effect'. The understanding of the basic

brain chemicals - Dopamine, Acetylcholine, GABA, Serotonin - will help

many with the intractable mental symptoms that millions in modern

times suffer from. Many patients have taken gallons of herbal

decoctions, taken accupuncture, practiced dozens of theraputic

protocals but have not recovered - brain chemistry is key for many of

these patients. I have not discussed these issues here before as many

TCM practioners are prejudiced against this emerging new natural

paradigm - which breaks from traditional theraputics. I understand

this attitude - I used to have it myself - but I no longer agree with

this stance. Practioners should use every tool available to achieve

their goals.
