Guest guest
For the most part the acupuncturist we see decides where to tap as she has been working with us...but if we have other complaints when we go that night then there are other qualifed people who can help us out with what meridian would work best...Also Tom Tam has a book out with charts to help guide you for what is needed...does that make sense..haha...huggz..Angel Chinese Traditional Medicine , " hyldemoer " <hyldemoer> wrote: > <snip> > > as for Tong Ren therapy..it is like chinese > > healing hands..or touch therapy..but you do > > it with a human statue (the chinese use to > > use a bronze statue but we use a plastic one) > > ..and you tap on the meridian lines with a > > hammer for a person or yourself for healing > > What diagnostic process is used to decide which meridian gets tapped? > > Penel

You said originally that your problem was weight gain. That's a symptom. Ask your acupuncturist what your diagnosis is by an Asian medical system theory. Guest guest
My issue I'm trying to deal with at the moment is weight gain..but I originally went to my acupuncturist for endometriosis of the liver..so we follow the liver meridian..and I also have bladder/kidney issues..so we follow the bladder/kidney meridian...Tom Tam has given acupuncture points and meridians to follow on our dolls when we tap to help with many issues...and it's a guinea pig tong ren class so it's up to you what you want to tap for..and the group follows what you want to do..there are many that have been trained by Tom Tam there to assist you...did you get a chance to check his site out? try this link and maybe it's the info you want http://www.easternhealingcenter.com/tomtam/tomtam_healing_system.htm Hope it helps..have a great weekend...huggz..Angel Chinese Traditional Medicine , " hyldemoer " <hyldemoer> wrote: > Chinese Traditional Medicine , " Shawne (Angel) " > <solesclan@h...> wrote: > > For the most part the acupuncturist we see > > decides where to tap as she has been working > > with us... > > ok, what kind of diagnostic system does SHE use? > > You said originally that your problem was weight gain. > That's a symptom. > > Ask your acupuncturist what your diagnosis is by an Asian medical > system theory. > > Penel

Has your acupuncturist mentioned that these meridians are named after physical organs but encompass an elaborate theory of energetic pathworking? For example, had your acupuncturist said you had " stagnent Liver heat " they wouldn't mean to be interpreted that your liver was unusually hot and physically congested in a Western anatomy physiology sense. Liver meridian is the element/pathway of your yin Wood and Bladder/Kidney meridians deal with your Water element. This shared, the moderator of this list would probably suggest you go to the early postings in this list's archives to see what that means. Guest guest
Hi Angel, intersting, but as you are treated(or right after), or treat yourself, what do you FEEL? I mean; with shiatsu, acupuncture, reiki, etc, we feel an effect of the tratment. I'm not referring to sensation of pressure in shiatsu or slight pain o " deki " in acupuncture, or even warmth from the hands of the healer in reiki, but the sensation of relaxation, sometimes elation, and increased clarity and energy that ensues from a treatment. All that apart from the desired health gains, of course.
