Guest guest
I have a tingling pain in LIVER 1. It''s not a bad pain- doesn't hurt too much. I have recently had acupuncture in LIV 3, SP 6, ST 36, LI 4 and a point over my nose. I went to treatment because of chronic fatigue, but was told that I have excess liver and liver stagnation, so we first need to address those issues before working on chronic fatigue. Any ideas what the pain in LIV 1 is? I have not had any needles at that point. Thanks Naomi
Guest guest
Hi Naomi - I don't know if anyone has replied to you yet. Often, especially at the beginning of treatment when there is still marked disharmony between our organs, we can feel movements or aches or pains after an acupuncture treatment. If the feeling does not last (day after day), it is not a problem, and is indicative of energy moving through an obstruction, or energy being regulated. If it does persist, then it indicates that something in the practitioner's treatment is missing. A few weeks ago I did some very very light, minor tuina on a first time patient with, apparently, a lifetime of steady liver qi binding and attack on the stomach by the liver (GB attacking stomach actually - see next point). She felt very relaxed after treatment and sleepy the rest of the day and fell asleep very easily and deeply, except that !!ZAP!! at midnight sharp she woke up with an intensive, excruciating pain (slightly slightly better with pressure) running down her thigh along the stomach meridian. It lasted intensively for at least one hour and woke her several times during the rest of that night. She came back though because the rest fo the week was really great for her. We've had several treatments since then and it's been smooth sailing. As much as I pereceived that she needed a gentle treatment and as gentle as I tried to be (I barely touched her), I didn't quite get that I should not have touched Liv 3 at all! Or perhaps it was unavoidable if I wanted to show her results. I don't know. Anyway, that's my story. Hugo __________ Messenger - Communicate instantly... " Ping " your friends today! Guest guest
Thanks for the reply. It makes a lot of sense. The tingling actually lasted more than a week, but it did subside.
