Guest guest
I didn't take any herbs for at least a month ... I noticed that the dark circles under my eyes were going away. Now I have resume taking the herbs for Menopause and they came back the very next day after I re-started. I am wondering if the herbs are causing kidney stress, which I don't need obviously with my lung symptoms, whether I should discontinue them. They did help the hotflashes and accompanying nausea, but that was convoluted with simultaneous acupuncture treatments so there really is not way to tease out all of the variables as far as what helped. That is probably why many say that herbs are medicine and not to be taken over the long term as in daily herb teas as an ongoing thing. Generally, Kidney Yin tonics can be a problem to digest, but as for the Kidneys, they should improve, which they did apparently with the hot flashes going away. Not sure how that would effect nausea, though. Liu Wei Di Huang Wan and Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan have a few herbs to address dampness, I suppose that's why they help. As for the darkness beneath the eyes, there are a few different ways of looking at them through the eyes of TCM. One is the so-called Five Wheels which says that the flesh surrounding the eyes is associated with the Spleen/Stomach. So, perhaps the yin tonics are aggravating an already weakened digestion. In which case the addition of something like Xiang Sha Liu Jun Zi Tang might help you. -- Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. -Adlai Stevenson
