It gets boring after a while, being a typical American, to now have only veigs and proteins. Ocassionally we make spelt pasta at home, but other than rice on occasion I don't eat grains or flour. I don't eat fruit too often because I am concerned about my blood sugar, but actually the acupuncture seems to have helped my blood sugar a lot. I used to have to eat every 2 hours like clockwork and now I can go 4 hours without eating for the first time in 20 years. She said that as my stomach got better my blood sugar problems would straighten out. I said isnt' that controlled by pancreas and she just shrugged. She not like to argue, but the stomach work did help my blood sugar. You do know by now, I hope, that the pancreas is part of Spleen in TCM, and Spleen and Stomach are paired meridians/energies. That's possibly why your blood sugar stabilized some. Very likely she treated you for the Spleen and your stomach improved as a result. Along with avoiding wheat and dairy, which weaken Spleen. sue

I didn't stop eating wheat and dairy until late in my life, during my 40s. My arthritis got so much better when I stopped the wheat. Wheat I can live without, dairy is very difficult for me to stay away from. Every once in a while, I'll have a little nip of sour cream. ;-) Night ~ Cat ^. .^ ~ " There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. I did. I can't drink a class of milk without problems, but if something like bread or a casserole has milk in it, it doesn't cause the problems it once did. I can handle cheese and yogurt now. And sour cream.
