Guest guest
Hi! I am one of from what I read...the many...that is suffering from Spleen weakness and dampness which for me is contributing to fluid retention, digestive difficulties and memory issues. Guest guest
Hi Christine, My acupuncturist / herbalist has me taking Qui Pi Wan, an herbal combination for strengthening the spleen. I have Fibromyalgia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Interstial Cystitis, Migraine, and Rosacea. I've only been on the herb since Sunday, but have already noticed a change. I take Feverfew Extract for my migraines. It is extra strength, so I only take 15 drops in a little water, twice per day. This has made a big difference for me. I also added Magnesium to my daily intake of supplements. My neurologist tried all the preventative and abortive migraine meds on me and nothing worked. I'm so glad I turned to alternative medicine. My current practitioner was referred to me by my sisters best friend. I am lucky to have found someone so knowledgeable. Karen in San Diego greenwich therapeutic wrote: > Hi! Guest guest
I have spleen depletion, with damp heat in the stomach, and liver attacking spleen. I am trying to juggle different foods to help the condition, and I have had some success, but I am working with a few pieces of information only. I basically figured out that I have to balance foods in order to get the right combination to promote spleen, not harm liver or stomach, soothe stomach and liver. The stomach wants cold foods, but not the spleen, so it is a balancing act. Plus, all of the foods can't be raw which irritates either the stomach or liver too. I have found eating button mushrooms is great for preventing diarrhea and helping with damp. I have to avoid dairy products for the damp. Cooked vegetables are great for the heat of the stomach, and garlic and pistachios are great for the spleen, although they are very hot (yang). Aloe vera, because it is very cold, is good for the liver, and it moves liver qi very well, but it hurts the spleen, so I have to take it in small quantities. Herbal teas like lemon tea (good for moving liver qi), peppermint (good for stomach heat), thyme (good for damp heat) and fennel (good for spleen qi), mixed together seem to help a lot too, but I have to get used to this idea of balance in my diet and in the things I drink. Hope that helps. greenwich therapeutic <cmp wrote: Hi!
