Guest guest
On a historical note - TCM predates Christianity and the Bible, hence little chance of any reference to the five elements, etc. Cosmologically, Christianity did not develop as a nature based tradition...it has another worldview not based in wind, metal, water, fire with earth at its center. The Chinese had Confucianism and the Tao as well as other more localized cultural views of matter, the world and our relationship to and our place in it. Christianity was a belief system unknown to the vast majority of the world's indigenous peoples who also had (and some still have) more nature based view's of healing, plant use, etc.....it wasn't until the more recent advent of capitalism that the Bible became more widely known. The Chinese had contact with Christians only well after TCM's philosophical and medical theories were already fairly widespread in practise. .....my two shekels...
