Guest guest
To Cat: Well, try aloe vera for liver heat. It is extremely effective. Try very small doses at a time. Vinegar works well too. For stomach heat, you could try peppermint tea and small portions of parsley. Clears it right up. If you have damp heat in the stomach, try thyme tea. You only need very small portions of these to see a very big effect. There are other foods you could try, but it sounds like you have a spleen deficiency and the liver heat is " attacking your stomach " - this is a very common TCM problem. If your spleen were strong enough, it would be able to deal with it, but it's not, so the heat is going to your stomach, and eventually to the lungs. The spleen should be able to protect the lungs as well. By the way, have you tried magnet acupuncture? You can walk around for a week with magnets on your acupuncture points as placed by your TCM practitioner. Also look into the small changes you can make in your nutrition. This is what I am experimenting with, and have noticed great changes. I am much stronger now than I was just 3 weeks ago. Currently that is the only tea I have accept occasional mild chamomile ... >There are other foods you could try, but it sounds like you have a spleen deficiency is the spleen on the right side under the ribs. that is the place I have had the most pain for the longest time. the stomach and liver are better I had ultra sound but the technician only did the right side, I had a CT scan of all my organs, but you know that means nothing when it comes to *real* health That must be right. Would you please give me some of the outward manifestations of problems with the spleen? does it include swelling in hands and feet (I ask because that really has me worried, it is too extreme to just be menopause, but I could be wrong). I have acupuncture tomorrow and I will ask .... >and the liver heat is " attacking your stomach " - this is a very common TCM problem. I have a " belt " of magnets and my mid back (which my acupuncturist said was bothering me because of menopause) and I remember to wear it at times. Normally for back pain and neck pain the magnets help a lot, in this case I'm not making much headway :-( with those >You can walk around for a week with magnets on your acupuncture points as placed by your TCM practitioner. > she gives me " permanent " little needles which I leave in for 5-7 days (as long as I can tolerate them). I'll ask again. I have been to 2 Chinese women trained in China and they would use a huge amount of needles. This woman tends to focus with fewer needles (says too many are tiring and she puts them in much deeper). I have had Japanese acupuncture and they put them in very shallow. But the current woman does very deep and twirls and twirls them. My sessions usually at an hour on one side and then an hour on the other, twice a week. I have to say I am a little nervous questions too much in too much detail as for fear of insulting her (the treatment seems to be working). I expect that it would take 3-6 months of treatment until I feel more normal, but a period of two years for complete healing to take place. Anyone have a comment on that time table. >Also look into the small changes you can make in your nutrition. This is what I am experimenting with, and have noticed great changes. I am much stronger now than I was just 3 weeks ago. I am maxed out as far as what I can do for my nutrition as far as my imagination goes. :-) I eat only organic vegetables, meat with no hormones, etc., I drink water bottled in glass containers. I drink no coffee (my favorite vice before this year), no alcohol to speak of, maybe the first very small sip when my husband opens an import. It must be the environmental factors here which as such a strain on my body, along with the life stressors I am under. My living situation as caretakers of the 24-unit building in which we live is not a good one at all. Fresh lime juice poured in the floor places which appear to have had mold seems to inhibit the irritants as well as the two jumbo air purifiers. Short of moving to a better climate and a better environment, I am turning to meditation and Yoga to try to pressure some healing points. I am trying to be patient for my body to heal and not worry about my health, but it is very difficult. I don't feel like my normal self and my exercise has been drastically reduced during the past year which cannot be good for the brain cortisols produced by stress either. Thanks- Cheers, Cat ^. .^ ~
