Guest guest
I joined this group when it has about half as many members. It is nice to be a part of something that grows like that. My college study was Communications. There has been alot of talk about dirty needles in accutreatment and it IS a problem, but compared to the rest of Medicine and the obvious abuses in drugs and operations, I think we can say that it is a minimal one. Accupressure, does not have the problem of conatmination of needles, and could be considered for children and other at-risk patients. Sedation..Moxa..Bledding..Stimulation..and Tonification can all be achieved with pressure at the desired area. To quote a TV artist...we must " fire it in " or try to acieve the desired affect without needles. For instance...Bleeding and moxabustion would seem to be difficult without moxa or a needle. If you consider the cocept of auras and the dynamic sphere, you can notice that in an MRI there are colors and shapes that seem to extend beyond the physical body. When 'bleeding' without blood we are trying to create a passage for the energy that would allow the energy to escape and be a part of the cosmos again. Remember the guy that could bend the spoon with his mind? We are trying to achieve that same type of ability when we use accupressure. The concept of a balancing of the essential conduits or channells is the same. Native American healing has a similar technique, and similar points and channell concepts. 'Special points' arr places on the body that need treatment and are treated by use of touch or rubbing stones or sticks. Some points in accutreatment are reached from a different angle in Native American healing... the same concepts apply. Here is a try at Parkinson's Disease. This treatment has not been tested and must be considered experimental. Parkinson's has as a target area the upper burner and pericardium channell. It is probably one of those diseases that would benefit from testing and stimulating many channells. They are used once and discarded. They are disposed in sharps containers never to be used again. OSHA has very specific guidelines for such things as needles, no matter what kind they are, and how to dispose of them. There are also state and federal regulations and guidelines.
