Guest guest
Dad has lung cancer possibly got to the liver. He is doing 4 OPC now. I try to have him eat budwig, but after 5 days, it wiped out his apptite completely. He looked so sad. He hates it but afraid to dissappoint me. I finally told him to stop. Quality of life is important also. Now he is on: S/OPC (4 now, plan to increase one every two days until 6 a day) NAC 500 mg 2x3 Curcumin 800 mg 1x3 Brazil mushroom 500 mg 2x3 Selenium 200 mg 1x1 Grape OPC 100 mg 2x2 Yesterday, I added trapper's iodine, milk thistle, Bromelain and brazilian mushroom in the evening. Major diarrhea! Scared him and me. I suspect one drop of trapper's iodine (25 mg)from the get go is the reason. For now I dropped the milk thistle and Bromelain and iodine. Will add back one at a time. I have the following to add: inositol/ip6 black seed oil pancreatic Enzyme Cayenne (capsule) I just read Marc's note that one shouldn't take NAC with Cayenne. Should I drop the NAC or Cayenne? Is NAC for cancer? Dad has lung cancer. Please please advice. Any additional things I need to add? My mom died from lung cancer 7 years ago. Guest guest
Hi Julie, Don't stop the NAC. The only reason that some people suggest not taking NAC with the Cayenne is because the latter seems to sometimes help with the killing of cancer cells and researchers have found in experiments with mice that when they add Capsaicin, the ingredient found in Cayenne, then the cell killing is less effective. Your dad can take both but keep them at least 3 to 4 hours apart. If you dad is losing weight, give him some whey protein 2 or 3 times per day. Guest guest
Julie, Your signature touched my heart as I relate very well to your situation. Taking care of a parent and in mala's case, a sister, is the most emotional job in the world. Yet, as I remember it, it is also the most rewarding. Maybe you can reintroduce budwig just a little at a time until he gets used to it. Is he eating better now? I really don't think that the iodine would have caused the diarrhea, but maybe Trapper can jump in and shed some light on that. I just want you and mala to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. We are here to support you in any way we can. Guest guest
Dad had major diarrhea after added colloidal silver and inositol/ip6. Honestly I have no clue why because he is taking so many different things. Which one is the cause is a complete mystery at this point. He refused to take any pills for 3 days. I just have him restarted S/OPC yesterday, 2 a day. I gave him 3 today, but not sure if he will take 2 or 3. I will add one thing at a time this time around, otherwise if diarrhea happens again, he will refuse again. He is so thin, weighs only 120 lbs at 5'9 " , he can't afford to lose much weight. He has never been more than 130 lbs all his life. His appetite came back as soon as I allow him to eat bad food. He continues to love junk food (love animal fat all his life), refuses to eat healthy food. His reason is healthy food = bad appetite = no energy, lost weight = can't do it. I am so torned! I want him to live, I want him to enjoy, I want him not to suffer. One day I am ready to let him go back to China to have some good time while he still can (he hates living in US), the next day I want him to stay here so I can take care of him (I am his only child). I pray to God for his infinite wisdom. Guest guest
Oh Julie....... My heart goes out to you. I have never heard of colloidal silver causing diarrhea. Maybe the Inositol/IP6, I'm not sure. How much are you giving him? Start with one and work up slowly. I believe you can go to six a day but Tony can clarify this. Maybe you can gently explain to him how much you love him and how important it is to YOU that he gets well. And to do this, he needs to eat the proper healthy diet. And this includes taking his supplements. You are a wonderful daughter and you are doing an excellent job. Please know that we are here for you. Guest guest
, Thank you so much for the kind words. Dad just had a PET yesterday. It confirmed he has lung cancer, but the dots on the liver are not cancer. I am happy to hear this little good news. Since we refused to have a biopsy(don't want to disturb the tumor), the doctor is delaying scheduling an appointment with an oncologist. I just want to get some opinion from the oncologist what stage is and how much time dad has. I will not put dad through a biopsy or chemo. No point to know what type of lung cancer. Maybe it's for the best not to see an oncologist. Dad took 3 S/OPC today. I pray he will not have diarrhea tonight! Dear God, please look after dad and me everyday. Guest guest
Hi Julie, That is indeed good news and you are very wise not to have a biopsy done as this can spread the cancer. Not opting for chemo is another wise decision. If it were me, I would not ask the oncologist how much time he has, and this is why. Right now you need all the optimism in the world and even though doctors are sometimes very wrong in predicting how much "time" a patient has left, it may color your judgment and give you a feeling of impending finality, thus adding to the burden that you are now feeling. Focus on healing and doing everything you can to make your dad well. But this is what I would do, you do what you feel is best. I am so glad he took the 3 Sutherlandia OPC capsules. Let's hope he doesn't get diarrhea. If he does, reduce the dosage and then increase slowly. Julie, my prayers are with you. I know how very hard this is on you. Hang in there. Explain everything to your dad and why it is so very important that he follow this regimen, kindly, with love, but firmly. Please let me know how he does with the 3 capsules. Is he eating better? Guest guest
Julie - A couple of thoughts here. First, oleander is the main item above all others. Secondly it appears to work extremely well with colloidal silver. And finally, given your father's weight 2 pills for him would be the equivalent of 3 pills for a 180 pound person, so perhaps a total of 4 per day would be a good strong doseage. Adding things back in one at a time is a good idea. oleander soup , "juliejhe1" <juliejhe1 wrote:>> Dad had major diarrhea after added colloidal silver and inositol/ip6. Guest guest
and Tony, I agree with you not knowing how much time is for the best, instead I should focus on the positive side, focus on how he feels. God will provide enough time for the protocol to work. Besides, the doctors are often wrong in predicting such things. Dad didn't have a diarrhea last night, good sign. He will continue to take 3 s/opcs today. I added 3 curcumin back today. He was taking 4 of these a day before the diarrhea, so I think this is not the cause of the diarrhea. Tony, it's good to know 3 S/OPC a day is a pretty good theraputic dose for dad. I sent the colloidal silver back unfortunately. I have to call back to re-order them, also get the machine.
