Guest guest
Does anyone have info on ultrasound? So far I have found no negative info, but hell, they used to tell us xrays were safe and they are still doing mammograms! I'm heading to the hospital in 2 days for U/S - they wanted to do bilateral mammogram as well - not likely. As my dr agreed, we know the lump is there. I don't want it biopsied either, as they are not forthcoming in how often they puncture lungs when getting "informed" consent. Have been slack regarding breast self exam - rashes on hands meant I did not want to touch intact skin anywhere else just in case it spead - crazy I know, but you itch for a few years and see if you can hang onto your marbles!!! Anyway went to dr on Friday, hospital Wednesday - fastest appointment I've ever got through our socialist system. Some women wait a month for the initial appointment. Treatment is another matter - some women are flown to Australia for treatment. Not worried at all - just shows that there is still quite a bit of garbage to get rid of. Can't find relevant info for getting rid of Foray 48B, because, wouldn't you know it?!?! It's safe!!!!Also I have heard that U/S is painful for foetuses like being caught in a sonar fish-finder under a boat. They are now used as routine during pregnancy, even frivolously - "baby's first picture" or to find out the sex of the baby. How has humanity coped, not knowing the sex of its babies until birth? Tsk! Primitive! Some foetuses are exposed to U/S several times.TIA,Mara
Guest guest
Maracuja, SInce ultrasound is not an ionizing form of radiation I don't think it will be dangerous for you, especially if you do it just one time. Repeated exposures could pose a hazard as any energy source could stimulate cells to proliferate. Bob - Maracuja OS Sunday, April 19, 2009 9:29 PM U/S, yes or no? Does anyone have info on ultrasound? Guest guest
Thanks Bob. Yes, that's my feeling too. Maybe I'll end up stranded on a beach somewhere! I wouldn't even bother with the U/S but the dr reckons they can tell more from U/S than mammogram. HE knows that I won't accept their treatment or risky or invasive diagnostic procedures.Mara--- On Sun, 4/19/09, Bob Banever <bbanever wrote:Bob Banever <bbaneverRe: U/S, yes or no?oleander soup Date: Sunday, April 19, 2009, 9:36 PM Maracuja, SInce ultrasound is not an ionizing form of radiation I don't think it will be dangerous for you, especially if you do it just one time.
