Guest guest
Thank you. I spent three months going to a physical therapist 2-3 times a week. She said she was at her limit and I'd just have to live with it. I'm not satisfied with that. --- Sherry Brown <soapgoddess wrote: > Hi Dorey, > > Have you tried finding a good body worker? Guest guest
Castor oil packs are extremely helpful for scar tissue. Shiatsu ( finger pressure) is also good for releasing muscle tension. Would someone mind sharing what was used to make this happen? My husband has been suffering from shoulder pain since October or November. He has only had a half dozen chiropractic treatments and has not seen his doctor. We typically like to heal naturally if possible. At this point he is not getting better and, after talking with other people who have experienced the same symptoms, he thinks it may be a torn roto cuff. If this is the case he will only know for sure through an MRI. My thoughts are that after this amount of time that he must have scar tissue that will need to be addressed. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated. Thank You, Kelly Access 350+ FREE radio stations anytime from anywhere on the web. Get the Radio Toolbar! Guest guest
I have been dealing with the same problem. It started back in Feb '08 for no particular reason. Two Kaiser doctors took x-rays on two different occasions and said nothing was wrong with my arm. Never touched or looked at it themselves. One prescribed extra strength Motrin?, I believe. It only made the pain flare up. I went to the chiro several times for immediate relief when the pain was so bad and up into my neck and shoulders. Did nothing for long term. A massage therapist felt it during massage and worked the scar tissue that had developed on my arm between shoulder and elbow. That helped greatly with range of motion and pain. I did that several times a few weeks apart. Then I went to a different chiro who told me he had arm pain for almost a year until a fellow chiropractor said he may have a tendon out of place and sure enough popped it back in for him. He adjusted my arm and something popped but there was no immediate relief and weeks later still no better. Not sure what that pop was. He also pushed really hard on the area where the scar tissue is and tried to pop the tendon back in. Nothing happened so we figured there was not tendon out of place or maybe he just didn't know how to do it. I should have went to his colleague maybe! Anyway, I lived with it as it was much better than it had been but still very painful at times and range of motion was bad. Recently, about six weeks ago, there was a physical therapist doing chair massage at my local Henry's Marketplace and I told him about my arm as he was working on my back. He started to manipulate it, found the scar tissue and a bunch of tight muscles. He worked it out pretty good and I've been seeing him once a week since. After the first two weeks I wasn't too sure how much it was going to ultimately help but now I know it is getting better. I have so much less pain and way more range of motion. I can actually take my tops off the right way instead of putting my arm through the sleeve first which I've been doing for over a year. It hurts like heck during the sessions and I've been black and blue on my arm and sore for days after the sessions but, it really is working! I doubt I would be getting such good physical therapy through Kaiser so I'm continuing with this guy out of pocket. Someone on one of these groups mentioned Prolotherapy a long time ago when I first reported this issue about myself. If the physical therapy does not get me 100% of the way there, I will try that next and hope it takes me the rest of the way. I hope you find something that works for you. Guest guest
Rose, I am glad you are finally finding relief. I have been doing a lot of research and have found that the massage can be so healing for this type of ailment since it brings blood and oxygen to the area. We are going to try this next for my husband. I wish you well. Kelly - Rosemarie Geiger oleander soup Friday, April 17, 2009 9:53 PM RE: scar tissue I have been dealing with the same problem.
