Hi Nancy, I belong to the breastcancerchoices email list. The list is primarily about using iodine, and is supervised by Dr Brownstein. They say that kelp is a very poor choice for therapeutic iodine because most of it is highly contaminated with mercury and other heavy metals.

   I use Iodoral. There's quite a bit a controversy on this list about how much and what sources of iodine to use, with Tony disagreeing with the breastcancerchoices list owners. You can check past messages for Tony's sources. Rhoda
