Guest guest
I'm a bit worried -- I read several articles on the web saying that iodine intake over 150 mcg a day could lead to major huge massive very serious thyroid problems. Per the recommendations of this group I am currently taking 300 times that amount every day. Could someone please give me a decent rebuttal as to why it is safe to take 300 times the " safe " dosage listed on so many web sites I've visited? Guest guest
Jim,Sorry for the delayed response to this question. We have been out of town and I came back to a sick computer which is now up and running. I posed this question to the iodine expert at Curezone and this is the response I received:i would say 150 mcg is nothing. 150 mg is what i would consider the minimum amount of Iodine from Lugols for someone with cancer. 100-300mg is that range of supplementation. extra selenomethionine is a good idea so about 1200mcg per day.oleander soup , "jrrjim" <jim.mcelroy10 wrote:>> I'm a bit worried -- I read several articles on the web saying that iodine intake over 150 mcg a day could lead to major huge massive very serious thyroid problems. Guest guest
, Would you have a recommended brand/source of Lugols solution? I was considering something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Lugols-Solution-2%25-16oz-bottle/dp/B001PMXVXA/ref=pd_sbs_\ hpc_5 http://www.amazon.com/J-Crows-Logols-Solution-5%25/dp/B001PN3BUW/ref=pd_sbs_hpc_\ 2 What's better 5% or 2%? oleander soup , " May " <luellamay129 wrote: > > Jim, > > Sorry for the delayed response to this question. Guest guest
I no longer recommend Lugols or Iodoral either - I think they are too strong for the therapeutic amount of iodine needed for cancer and other serious conditions. A much better option in my opinion and that of the CureZone iodine forum moderator is to take potassium iodine in quantity and add a bit of elemental iodine from Magnascent or Lugols. You could add several drops of Magnascent but probably would be best advised to only add a few drops of Lugols if you supplement with much potassium iodine. As I posted a few minutes ago, my favorite potassium iodine is SSKI, which is made by the same CZ moderator and friend of mine. Quite a bargain at $20 a bottle. Guest guest
Dorry, Tony, I didn't see this email when I posted my last message. I will look around here in Australia for some potassium iodine. I know I did not do too well on 150mg of Lugols a while ago and have only just now started to increase again. Guest guest
Hi Could you elaborate on the results people are getting by using this protocol? Does the CZ moderator see clients or is he/she relying on what people say on the forums or how did he/she come to this conclusion? This goes entirely against what the iodine docs are saying. J Now, I have no allegiance to either and I have always been a bit suspect of the very major detox symptoms (if that is what they really are) from those on large amounts of Lugols/Iodoral. We sell Nascedyne which is (magnascent) nascent iodine and people do seemingly get results. However, the moderator on the iodine , who is a patient of Dr. David Brownstein’s says that nascent iodine is not effective enough for those with serious thyroid issues as she had her children on it for a while and were not helped. Dr. Brownstein and the other iodine docs indicate that the body needs potassium iodine and iodide. Guest guest
The moderators are not doctors or naturopaths and rely on the testimonials of the members; however, the testimonials are quite numerous and I for the most part believable. By the same token, I do not normally see people either but I nevertheless believe most of the testimonials that are posted here and in other forums and emails I get. My friend "Trapper" at CureZone clearly states that both the elemental form of iodine and potassium iodine are needed for best results. He makes his own potassium iodine (SSKI) and recommends Magnescent as a first choice over Lugols or Iodoral for the elemental iodine. Thanks for letting me know that you have a version of iodine. I will put a link to it in my protocol. oleander soup , "Dr. Loretta Lanphier" <drlanphier wrote:>> Hi Tony> > > > Could you elaborate on the results people are getting by using this> protocol? Guest guest
Hey Tony, I went over to Curezone and I found it very hard to glean any information about iodine in any form. Tons of unanswered threads there. Very difficult to navigate. Could you please clearly outline your recommendations for iodine, what type (or mixture of types) and a decent source for these? Thanks and blessings, Jill~

Guest guest
I recommend a minimum of 50 mg a day and a combination of elemental iodine and potassium iodine, along with selenium in the form methylselenocsyteine. The best source of potassium iodine is a friend of mine at CureZone and I am going to invite him to come over and post a bit about iodine for the group. BTW - You folks ARE paying frequent visits to our website aren't you? There is a great new movie about our food coming out and it is previewed on the first page: oleander soup , "lillisilly" <evangelnet wrote:>> Hey Tony, > I went over to Curezone and I found it very hard to glean any information about iodine in any form. Am I just too blonde or what? 50 mg a day of what specifically...name a brand, please? And is the 50 mg in *addition* to the combination of elemental iodine and potassium iodide or is it *the* 50 mg you are talking about? And what brands are these products? (I'm all good on the selenium, thankfully...) Blessings, Jill~
