At the time (several years ago) she didn't have a reliable source for the hydrosols...today, I think, she'd use the hydrosols rather than the eos. she also used fresh Aloe, scraped from the leaves... Guest guest
But if she's still undergoing treatment, make sure whatever you use or give her is approved by the doctor. You don't want to interfere with the treatments at all. Guest guest
I agree with Helichrysum italicum, and we have all been very happy to hear of this helpful blend from Sylla and it has helped many, many others as a result (thanks to Sylla for sharing her experience). As for the Blue Tansy I would use this or possibly substitute Chamomile, german and a small amount of Lavender angustifolia. A very light dilution and do a patch test. I have found these blends have also been helpful for skin issues (itch, discomfort, rashes, etc) associated with chemotherapy- individuals sometimes using very high quality pure aloe alone as a base, sometimes preferring a very light natural lotion. These are very sensitive conditions and individual- but these are gentle skin soothers that pose little problem normally. Still, I'd cut normal skin care dilutions in half and test ahead of time. There are some other very gentle & soothing hydrosols I would suspect would also be helpful. Chamomile may be helpful too here- for some. Hydrosol mixed with aloe and sprayed or layered. Hydrosols are also nice in the tub. Also a very light aloe based lotion with infused Calendula. Other symptoms like nausea may play a role in what is acceptable (aromatically) to the person and may also be addressed with herbs and aromatherapy.
