Guest guest
Janet, My mail from SA containing OPC/sutherlandia caps never has been opened and has always got here fine. I think it is a good idea to order the 5 tubs +1 free at a time as this fits in a jiffy envelope and can be sent by regular registered airmail (usually takes about 10 days to Europe and would guess the same to US). I have problems with bigger parcels of natural heath products from outside the EU because they get blocked in Italian customs. Nelly

Guest guest
Hi Janet, The OPC is made at a place (Wellington - http://www.wellington.co.za/) approximately one hour's drive from Cape Town. The contract manufacturing pharmaceutical company that makes my products (Parceval) is situated in the Wellington district where there is an abundance of both the Oleander plants and the Sutherlandia Frutescens or 'cancer bush'. The hedge in the middle of the highway between Cape Town and Paarl, a town on the way to Wellington, consists of oleander plants which, when in bloom, makes for a most magnificent sight. Guest guest
Marc,So am I to assume, then, that air pollution/automobile pollution does not affect the quality of the plants? I frequently travel to northern california and they have massive oleander hedges between the lanes and next to the freeway and major streets. Would it be safe to use cuttings from plants that grow in these situations? Thanks a million,Sean. Guest guest
Maybe I am wrong, but I took Marc's comment to mean that oleander is abundant in the area and one example was the plants in the highway that are such a spectacle when in bloom Personally, I would never select plants that were too near busy traffic lanes where auto exhaust and possible maintenance crew herbicides and pesticides might be present. Anyone who has ever lived in or visited snowbound cities like Detroit after weeks or more of being snowbound and taken a look at the black snow next to the road would have an idea what I am talking about. I rather imagine that a pharmaceutical company would not be harvesting material from the roadsides and at any rate would have fairly sophisticated testing for chemical contaminants. oleander soup , restrictionsapply wrote:>> Marc, > > So am I to assume, then, that air pollution/automobile pollution does not affect the quality of the plants? > > I frequently travel to northern california and they have massive oleander hedges between the lanes and next to the freeway and major streets. Guest guest
Marc, On one hand that is embarrassing and also makes me worry that I'm sliding down the slippery slope of Alzheimers or dementia. On the other hand, I have to remind myself that I am handling way more in life at the moment than the average person. I have so much on my plate and have had since my mother's diagnosis in August that I actually found myself becoming physically ill two months ago from the stress of it all. That seems to be under control now but there is still so much to learn and know do and so little time, I'm afraid and so there is constant anxiety. Truth is, I did remember the offer when it was brought up today but I just didn't remember at the time of ordering that I knew about that offer. I only knew my initial order was for only 2 bottles because I wanted to be sure my Mom would even take the stuff. Now that we have it, she's taking it, not having any issue with it and I want her to stay on it, I ordered more and by this time, I'd forgotten that offer and only doubled my original order so as not to have to do it again so quickly. I really appreciate you extending the offer and allowing me to order that extra bottle and get two which I have done this afternoon. Marc, it is gestures like this that keep us all going and make the fight worthwhile knowing that there are genuine people out there, like yourself, who really care and are helping us to continue caring. Thank you for understanding that I'm overwhelmed and thank you for your support. Guest guest
, Yes, it is physically, mentally and emotional draining and, sometimes, all at the same time. I'm sure everyone on here can relate. I am so thankful for the internet in general, these groups in particular and, most especially, the people on them. The knowledge and advice and support are just amazing. Don't know where we would be without them. It's a scary thought. Thank you all so much! I really appreciate you extending the offer and allowing me to order that extra bottle and get two which I have done this afternoon. Marc, it is gestures like this that keep us all going and make the fight worthwhile knowing that there are genuine people out there, like yourself, who really care and are helping us to continue caring. Thank you for understanding that I'm overwhelmed and thank you for your support.Hugs, Rose 714.349-1200 Cell Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss oleander soup From: marcswan (AT) global (DOT) co.zaDate: Wed, 21 Jan 2009 23:17:41 +0200Re: Re: bringing OPC back from SA Hi Rose, Read my e-mail to you of December 15th - "Kindly note that if you order 5 bottles at a time, you get a 6th bottle of capsules for free". Guest guest
Hi Sean, We never use the plants that grow next to the road. There are massive areas covered by wild growing plants far away from any roads or any cultural activities. I would advise against using plants that grow in any area where they could be contaminated. Regards, Marc Swanepoel - restrictionsapply oleander soup Thursday, January 22, 2009 12:09 AM Re: bringing OPC back from SA Marc,So am I to assume, then, that air pollution/automobile pollution does not affect the quality of the plants? I frequently travel to northern california and they have massive oleander hedges between the lanes and next to the freeway and major streets. Would it be safe to use cuttings from plants that grow in these situations? Thanks a million,Sean.
