Guest guest
A popular magazine article says that adding bioperine increases bioavailability 2,000%. Not only for curcumin, it's added to other herbs as well. Bioperine is sold VERY cheaply by <SwansonVitamins.com> in caps if you are making your own. I'm guessing at this, but in addition to the wonderful info on curcumin at the site, they may be badmouthing all other caps to sell their own. Guest guest
Life Extension has a wonderful product called Super Bio-Curcumin suppose to have 7 times greater absorption. It is a patented synergistic blend of curcuminoids etc. it gives it enhanced bio-availability and sustained retention time in the body confirmed by clinical studies. It's delivery allows one not to have to take high doses to reach sustainable levels of curcumin in the blood plasma. Each 400mg cap is equiv to 2,772mg of a typical 95% curcumin extract. Suppose to be superior to bioperine. Bottom line less tabs to take, yippee!!! And the body actually absorbs it. Guest guest
I think the jury may still be out on just how much bioperine (piperine) increases the absorption of curcumin. Though there are some studies that seem to indicate that it does, there are also those like Dr. Ray Sahelian who says he has yet to see convincing evidence. One thing that may help is coconut milk or coconut oil. Dr Steve Martin at Grouppe Kurosawa recommends dissolving the curcumin in coconut oil so that it will be transported via lauric acid in the lymphatic system, not the blood system. I would also venture that bromelain might help increase absorption as well. The life extension product sounds like a good one. Another might be the one at Turmeric-Curcumin.com oleander soup , "Tammatha" <tammatha wrote:>> Life Extension has a wonderful product called Super Bio-Curcumin suppose to have 7 times greater absorption. Guest guest
Yes, I love raw organic coconut oil...I put it in my green smoothies, my dog Weaver loves it too, eats it right out of the jar. I give him pancreatic enzymes with it. It is an antifungal too I'm told.
