De-Lurking here! I've been finding this group's information very

informative. I want to share my take on mouthwash and oral care.

I have gotten away from using mouthwash as it was intended, or should

I say sold. I quit using alcohol-based mouthwash several years ago.

Some time ago I started using Ipsadent Herbal Mouthwash from Heritage

Products (I buy it at iherb dot com) as an additive to my oral

irrigator. I realize it does have some " natural grain alcohol " in it,

but I find that the other ingredients - plus my method of use - make

me feel better about it. That may not be very logical - eek!

The rest of my oral health regimen includes tooth soap and tooth

swish, which is a remineralization aid. These are based on protocols

defined by Weston Price, DDS. Oh, and I try to eat right and drink

lots of water.

Hi Mary,Good for you for not using regular mouthwash and toothpaste. Commercial toothpaste actually damages teeth and prevents them from remineralizing. I use colloidal silver as a mouthwash. Since it kills all bacteria there is no bad breath. And for brushing my teeth, I use the colloidal silver bar soap. This will kill any bacteria present and insure healthy gums. It will do away with gum disease and you may even find that teeth that were once loose, are no more, as it also strengthens gums.Hugs, oleander soup , "marysews" <marysews wrote:>> De-Lurking here! Hey Mary from FYI.

i Hope you dont mind me jumbing in here, but you can make your own mouthwash with next to nothing.

Boil 2-3 stick of cinnamon.

1 tablespoon cloves

100ml water.

Boil gently for 3-5 minutes, turn off and allow to cool, strain in a clean bottle, add 6 drops essential oil of peppermint, and presto you have a nice healthy mouthwash.

Hope this helps.

Hugs Mary

Hi Melly,I find numerous benefits in, not only taking colloidal silver daily, but also using it as a mouthwash and the colloidal silver soap bars as a "toothpaste." To insure that the good bacteria stay around, also supplement with probotics. From personal experience I will say that colloidal silver is the best thing that you can implement for oral hygiene.Hugs, oleander soup , Melly Bag <tita_mel wrote:>> ,> > CS does kill bacteria in the mouth, however, we do need the good bacteria to stay around as they are used in the pre-digestion of our food.> > Melly>
