Guest guest
And the extremely sad thing about insurance companies and the way the medicine laws work--if you have medicine you don't need, you can't even GIVE it to anyone legally!! My Dad had leukemia. He had been taking Gleevec, at $4000 a month, fully paid by his insurance. He had great insurance, I will admit. Then the Gleevec quit working and they switched him to that new stuff--can't think of the name right off, which is TEN grand a month! Now, Dad passed away with a full, unopened bottle of that medicine. Can I even give it back to the company to give to someone else? No. Dad also had 2 unopened bottles of Travatan and one of Cosopt eye drops. These run from $65 to 80 a bottle. Can I legally give them to anyone? Nope. I couldn't even give them to his doctor to give to a patient without the type of insurance Dad had. I tried. He wouldn't accept it. So I have this medicine sitting here, unopened--thousands of dollars worth, and someone who needs them is going without. It's not right.
