Guest guest
My two cents. When my first husband went into a severe depression, I found an Al-Anon book to be extremely helpful in teaching me to separate myself from his issues, but not from him. I've been to AA meetings with several friends. The membership and leadership varied enormously. But I found the format strange and uncomfortable in all. I've been a leader and member of many different kinds of support groups; in them we respond to what a person says, not just listening. AA meetings seemed ritualistic and cold, but my friends who wanted to me to come felt that they were lifesaving. Rhoda
