Guest guest
Duane - It is great to see the continued good news, my friend! I second on the cayenne. It may also have a positive effect on your prostate cancer fight as well. We know a great herbalist source who makes the cayenne tincture and I both take and she should be announcing herself to the group as a new member any day now. For osteoporosis, I recommend the same supplements as I do for arthritis: 1) Plant Minerals- minerals are the building blocks of the enzymes necessary for the utilization of all other vitamins, etc. (rock minerals are a waste of money since only 5-15% can be broken down by the body before being eliminated. Minerals already digested by plants are potentially 100% absorbable.) 2) Colloidal Gold - gold has even been used by mainstream medicine to treat severe Arthritis. 3) MSM, Glucosamine, Chondrotin, Collagen (all of these are available in a product called Liquid Life Joint Care, which also contains aloe. 4) Silica (from horsetail and/or shavegrass) 5) GTF Chromium (GTF Chromium is a complex known as Glucose Tolerance Factor and is made by fermenting nutritional yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) with chromium.) 5) Colloidal Silver- some arthritis is believed to be viral related and colloidal silver is an extremely good anti-viral agent. Colloidal silver also helps bone, tissue and nerve regeneration. Note: All of the above products are available from the Utopia Silver Supplement Company (and you can use our private discount code LR001 to get 15% any items not currently on sale). The owner of the company and his 90 plus year old father both had arthritis and he took extra measures to find the best combination of supplements, which proved to be 100% successful for both him and his father. In addition, you will find a wealth of other suggestions and information about osteoporosis at this page on my website: Osteoporosis oleander soup , "Duane Christensen" <duanechristensen wrote:>> The preliminary report of yesterday's blood draw at Alta Bates> Comprehensive Cancer Center (Berkely) was received by fax this> afternoon and I am pleased with the results. Guest guest
Hi Tony and , Thank you to both of you for the useful advice, especially on osteoporosis. I am posting this conversation on my own discussion group for reference purposes. My first task is to see how well my current protocol is working, before I experiment with the various things you are suggesting. My guess is that my own protocol is probably working, and it is MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE than what you suggest here. The most important thing is to establish a baseline measure with a DPD (urine) bone marker test, from which to assess progress (or regress). My numbers are as follows: Date || DPD bone marker test Range || 3.0-7.2 11/03/08 || 9.0 02/15/09 forthcoming If my numbers move are moving in the right direction, I will simply continue with what I am now doing. If they go in the other direction, I will experiment with one or more of the suggestions you have made and observe what happens in my numbers. It takes only about 90 days between tests to assess what is going on. I am already convinced that the single most important thing to do is to achieve proper hormone balance, especially with saliva progesterone. Because I was relying on blood serum testing in my supplementation with both testosterone gel-cream and progesterone cream as I came of ADT (androgen deprivation therapy), which I aborted on 11/16/06, I managed to overdose both of these hormones rather badly. I am still in the process of correcting that problem in a series of saliva testing with Diagnos-Techs Laboratory. Here's the relevant numbers: Date || Progesterone Range || 5-95 pg/ml 11/03/08 ||>1000 11/24/08 || 0968 12/15/08 || 0481 01/15/08 || forthcoming When I get my progesterone level back down where it belongs, I think that I will see measurable progress with my osteoporosis because of the minerals I am already taking, which include: Min-Col Vitamin D3 Boron Calcium (following RBTI principles) Magnesium Citrate/Glycinate Strontium Citrate Vitamin K [K1 & K2] IP-6 (+ Inositol) Vitamin A Folic Acid Zinc Duane Christensen Rodeo, California ***** Duane's update plus Osteoporosis Duane – It is great to see the continued good news, my friend! Guest guest
Duane - I like what you are taking. The plant minerals, silica and GTF chromium I recommend actually cost but a pittance and they ALL are essential for bone health. Many trace minerals (such as the boron and strontium you take) are essential building blocks for bones. Silica works with calcium to maintain bone strength and it works best in combination with GTF chromium. I might mention that I often consult an MD friend of mine with over 30 years experience in medicine and over 20 in natural health - and he strongly recommends all three for bone health. Since you already take boron and strontium, you might wish to consider just the silica and GTF chromium - and they are very inexpensive. oleander soup , "Duane Christensen" <duanechristensen wrote:>> Hi Tony and ,> > Thank you to both of you for the useful advice, especially on> osteoporosis. Guest guest
Tony, Thank you for your information about silica and GTF chromium. On the latter would you comment on the following warning I found? http://www.carbohydrateaddicts.com/glucose.html What you take with your GTF chromium is important. Zinc competes with chromium for absorption and therefore it is generally recommended that GTF be taken with no food or other supplementations. Zinc is essential to me for other reasons in my struggle with prostate cancer. If zinc and GTF chromium compete with each other, I would prefer to go with zinc. What other supplements, if any, are in competition with GTF chromium? You probably have discussed silica earlier, but perhaps you could revisit it. What source of silica do you use yourself?
