Best immune boosting mushrooms / beta glucans?

I just got done reading the information web page on the various

medicinal mushrooms, and I was wondering what the consensus is on

these mushrooms versus the beta glucan derived from yeast.

I'm sure that many of you have read Bill Henderson's book on

alternative cancer cures. He strongly recommends the Transfer Point

beta glucan, sold by several different vendors. There are other

yeast derived beta glucans besides Transfer Point, at around the same

price for the same dose. This runs about $4 a day for me, which is

kind of steep for my current budget.

What I have not seen is a decent comparison of the mushrooms versus

the yeast derived beta glucans. In fact I've seen only one study of

any kind, which was run by some organization called JANA, relating

several immune boosting products. A chart is given on:

This chart compares beta glucan with such famous (or infamous) immune

boosting products as RM-10, mannapol, AHCC, astralagus, Epicor, etc.

But I don't see the ABM mushroom there, nor can I tell the mushroom

types and contents of various combination products in the chart.

In fact, I don't even know if this chart is bogus itself. But it is

the only one I've seen.

The cancer I have is colon cancer. Perhaps there are differences in

the types of immune boosters for the different types of cancers too.

The chart seems to indicate that yeast-derived beta glucans, with at

least 85% 1-3D beta glucans, are the best by far. I'm wondering what

the feedback from people in this group is about this.

I have no interest in promoting one product over the other. My only

concern is finding the best nutritional supplements to fight my

cancer. Unfortunately, cost is one consideration I have to take into

account.
