Guest guest
I tried putting the OPC extract in veggie capsules for my husband and my friend, but it made the capsules disintegrate. I will have to switch to the capsules on my next order for both of them. I realize this is no help except not to waste it by putting in capsules. Marva New year...new news. Guest guest
I'm not becoming more accustomed to oleander soup, but rather less able to tolerate it. I start to heave as I pour it out now. It has no taste as I hold a tablespoon under my tongue, but when I swallow it, I can't count on keeping it down. Luckily, it's cheap so I can start again! I feel nauseus for an hour after. Eating something with fat and brushing my teeth and tongue help a little. Putting three tablespoons a day into caps as a solution would take forever! Fat sometimes helps with nausea. I've been doing some OPC and some homemade, but my problem of becoming adjusted to OS seems to be getting worse, not better. The cost of six caps a day of OPC long-term is a prohibitive. Any suggestions? Rhoda
Guest guest
Well, if you wanted to try putting the liquid OS into caps to make it easier to take I'd suggest a method that might be quicker, if you are not doing it this way now. Measure out the 3 tablespoons into caps to see how many caps it takes for the 3 TBs to fill. Say it takes 7 caps. Then you know you only need to fill 7 caps a day. So, if you are taking 1 tablespoon 3 times a day all you need to do is pour some OS into a bowl--no need to measure, and then just dip a couple caps in and swallow them. Say 2 caps in the morning, 2 caps afternoon and 3 caps at night and you have your 7 caps, made up right as you need them so that they don't start dissolving until swallowed. If swiping them into the OS makes them a bit sticky you may want to have a spoon of something like cottage cheese handy so you can throw the sticky cap into the spoon of cottage cheese and quickly swallow. Whatever OS is left in the bowl just cover and save for the next day, adding more as needed. If the OS is strong enough to kill cancer it certainly won't be bothered by whatever germs you have on your fingers as you scoop/fill the caps. :-) Besides, the alcohol or vinegar will take care of them too. Of course, you may be doing this already. In that case--I'll be quiet. Samala, Renee ---- ! I feel nauseus for an hour after. Eating something with fat and brushing my teeth and tongue help a little. Guest guest
Rhoda,Are you taking the Oleander Soup with juice? Take the Oleander Soup, put it under your tongue where there are no taste buds, then take a drink of juice. This works very well with Pomegranate Juice.Hugs, oleander soup , "Rhoda Mead" <hummingbird541 wrote:>> *I'm not becoming more accustomed to oleander soup, but rather less able to> tolerate it. Guest guest
It must be an individual tolerance thing for unpleasant tastes (and I am not sure how entirely physical it really is when someone starts to gag when they simply begin pouring it). As for myself, I have taken some really potent homemade "soup" and, while I have not liked the taste, have never actually gagged nor felt nauseous afterwords. What I HAVE done and recommended is to divide the dose in half, put half of it in a small cup of strong juice such as dark grape juice or pomegranate juice and then put the other half under your tongue where you will not taste it. When you go to swallow, take a good sip of the juice in the cup and swallow. The taste is not that unpleasant to me at all, and then drinking the rest of the cup a swallow at a time is actually pleasant. Maybe not so for everyone, but it is for me. -- In oleander soup , "Pam Griffin" <pgriff wrote:>> and let me know too,I got to the point after 2 solid years, of gagging at the thought of the yummy grape juice I always used as a chaser.....I found I felt queasy all day.......now the only way I can take oleander soup is to fill 8 caps at a time...equals i tablespoon and I dont get the queasiness either. Its a real drag standing for 15 mins swallowing caps and tabs etc swigging grape juice to get them down.........but to make it myself is so much cheaper....and i need cheaper.....trying to budget for all this stuff I THINK I NEED...drives me crazy......Pam NZ> - > Rhoda Mead > oleander soup > Monday, January 05, 2009 7:22 AM> how to keep OS down> > > I'm not becoming more accustomed to oleander soup, but rather less able to tolerate it. Guest guest
Hi Rhoda,It must be very hard to choke down that remedy. My husband is the same way with a liver cleanse. In your case the remedy is so crucial to your recovery that I'm wondering if it's having an effect on your peace of mind. I thought of something when I read the suggestions. This may not work but when I was teaching breastfeeding we quite often had mothers who were experiencing extreme pain from candida or cracked nipples. To continue nursing under these circumstances was bleak to say the least - combined with guilt at not wanting to feed their babies! One thing we suggested in these cases was a treatment protocol in conjunction with physical distraction until healing occurred. This was accomplished by nursing in the bath or shower, sitting in front of a fan or having the husband massage the neck while the baby nursed. You can see how this did not take away the pain but the physical sensation co-existed with the pain. I'm wondering if anything like this would address your nausea. I would also consider music therapy as well. Addressing the other 4 senses in other words. I wish you only the best in your healing. With kindest regards,Janet
Guest guest
I only take a dose after a meal, holding the OS in my mouth for 30 seconds before swallowing, then washing it down with about 4oz water. I learned and lesson to share: Never take OS after eating grits, eggs, and Louisiana Hot sauce. You get Cajun upchuck revenge which lasts for an hour. :>( Ed oleander soup , " Tony " wrote: > > > It must be an individual tolerance thing for unpleasant tastes (and I am > not sure how entirely physical it really is when someone starts to gag > when they simply begin pouring it). > > As for myself, I have taken some really potent homemade " soup " and, > while I have not liked the taste, have never actually gagged nor felt > nauseous afterwords. Guest guest
If the OS has made the person throw up already, or made them nauseous--I believe the gag reflex is a defense mechanism of the body. Like a warning--look out, that's bad stuff! I had been taking MMS just fine--sure it smelled and tasted bad, but no problem at all. Until I hit the mark where I had projectile vomiting and liquid diarrhea (long story, don't ask :-). From that point on, for about a month, anytime I even smelled MMS--which I had to do because I was still giving it to my cats with tumors, even though I myself had stopped taking it--I would start gagging. When I was a child and had my tonsils out they later told me that the reason I vomited so badly after the operation was because I swallowed the ether given to knock me out, while fighting the mask they were putting over my face. A few years later my Dad started carrying a spray can of ether in the car, during the winter. I forget now what he used it for--spraying on a cold engine? Whatever. Sometimes that can would roll on the floor in the back seat, and a shot of ether would come out. I would just about throw up the second that smell hit my nose. My body certainly remembered and reacted. Guest guest
LOL! I, too, have taken some pretty awful tasting stuff. When I first began my program I was put on a herbal product called Vermifuge. Yes, it was a parasite (worm) cleanser. It was AWFUL….bitter and just NASTY! I had to take 12 drops in only 1-ounce of water….no juice, no capsules….3x daily. It still brings tears to my eyes when I think about it. I quickly realized that my most sincere protests were falling on very deaf ears to the tune of “Do you want to get well?” So….I would get everything prepared. Then I would hold my breath and my nose and SLAM it down. The after-taste was as bad as the taste so I would drink a bit more water and then eat some nuts or something salty. But, I did it. Yes I griped and continued to try every type of protest I could muster up hoping for a little bit of sympathy, but again soon learned that my doc wasn’t impressed and had absolutely no compassion in this area….none! I took the product for 2-3 months and had a huge party when I was told I didn’t have to take it anymore….you would have thought I won the lottery! Digestion actually begins in the mouth which is one reason that liquid supplements are usually much better with absorption, assimilation, etc. Tony’s advice is great. Find ways that work for you and keep reminding yourself that this is helping you to get well. You might also try putting 1-2 drops of peppermint essential oil in the mixture. I suggest this for those doing the olive-oil/grapefruit mixture for the liver/gallbladder cleanse. It helps to ease the stomach. I have also found that the colder the drink is the easier it is to get down…some people say that using a straw also helps. Holding your breath and slamming it down really does help, too!
