Cayenne pepper is red in color. The peppers themselves are red, and it retains that color when it is ground. It is very beneficial for the cardiovascular system. For some reason, I am not able to copy and paste the picture on this forum. I am not sure if it is due to the feature or my computer, as even though my computer is "fixed" it still won't perform certain functions. But I hope I have explained it.Warm regards, oleander soup , AVAILDOLLARS <availdollars wrote:>> I m from India n i do not understand what Cayenne pepper is or means. Chili powder is a bit different, as it also contains other ingredients. Sometimes it includes cayenne. That is, if our chili powder in the United States is the same as yours.Warm regards, oleander soup , AVAILDOLLARS <availdollars wrote:>> Is it the same we use to make curry hot n pungent, it is red in coulour about 15mm at the stem side n tapering down pointed about 3 to 4 inches long which u get in the Indian grocery shop n known as chilly powder> > > Thank you> May JESUS bless u & family> > --- On Mon, 12/22/08, May luellamay129 wrote:> > May luellamay129 Re: Cayenne and heart attacks - bloodpressure> oleander soup > Monday, December 22, 2008, 7:42 AM> > > > > > > Cayenne pepper is red in color. I've used the India chilli powder and it is not as hot as cayenne. Just use a little more.

There are many different cayenne peppers. Cayenne is just the name for "hot" :-) Habanneros are the hottest peppers (well, there's now listed a pepper from another country that is hotter, but it's hard to come by here) and they usually come in red, but also yellow.

Samala,

Renee

----Cayenne pepper is red in color.

You are in India, the hottest pepper is found in there, it is called "BHUT JOLOKIA". more than one million scoville heat unit (SHU). Found in Assam, Nagaland, and Manipur. The healing property of cayenne pepper is the capsicum which is found in all hot peppers. The hotter the better.
