My tongue seems to be coated with white. Does anyone have an idea of what causes it?Today is December 21. Among other things, it is an Equinox. In the northern hemisphere, where I live, it is when each day becomes a bit longer. A celebration of the turn of the seasons. L'Chaim, Rhoda

Hi Rhoda,

I have heard it is candida yeast. Of course, may be other things causing it. I have a terminator zapper on the way and am interested to see how it works. I know I have some bugs.

Happy Holy Days to you.

Well Rhoda.

white coated tongue sometimes it's caused by oral thrush = oral candita, poor digestion, bloting after eating and some other stuff i can not remember right now.

try drinking, half lemon juice in a glass of water.

take friendly bacteria.

take digestive enzymes.

and wash your mouth with hydrogen peroxide- 10 drops in half a glass of water, swish in the mouth and spit.

Good luck.

Hi Rhoda,Is it your whole tongue that is coated or just patches? Breastfeeding teachers see a lot of this on the nursing baby's tongue. It's thrush he/she got from the mother. Usually the mother is suffering from symptoms herself - often she feels deep pain in the breast that goes undiagnosed by doctors. Both baby and mother then need to be treated for thrush (candida).

Does this describe your tongue?....there may be creamy white patches on their gums, insides of cheeks, palates and tongues which do not scrape off. creamy white patches that cannot be wiped off on the inside of the

mouth, along the inside of the gums, inside of the cheeks, roof of

mouth, throat, or tongue

a shiny or " mother of pearl " look on the inside of the mouth

If this describes your tongue, it may well be candida.Hope you're feeling well soon,Janet

Candida Hmm, not sure how to diagnose this. Been taking large amounts of powdered probiotics for a long time: no changes.

Dehydration Nope

Antibiotic side effect Nope

Thrush Gotta look it up. Don't know what it is.

Alcohol NopeSmoking Nope

Chronic Illness Ahah. Been fighting this cancer five years!

Epstein Barr Virus Nope

Malignancies Not on the tongue, otherwise, of course.

Oral manifestation of skin conditions NopeWhite tongue is recent. I'll ask my doc. Rhoda

White tongue is present in most cancer patients and mostly is due to

lack of sufficient vitamin D. Ralph Moss had an interesting report

about this.

Hey, friends. Thanks for all your wonderful suggestions. I guess I don't have thrush. Just a thin white coating. I'll gargle with H2O2 for a few days and see what happens. I'm starting Tony's natural anti-fungal protocol for two weeks.

I've been happily celebrating Winter Stolstice. Happy holidays to everyone, Rhoda
