Guest guest
Recently several people said to find a good doctor and get it diagnosed. Hah! That's not always easy! I've had diarrhea for months now, and just took an imodium once in a while at first. Renee pointed out that my ability to digest the food I need is impaired, and I should do something more. She did suggest some natural remedies, and I found that clay worked well. I started to ask for referrals! My Onco suggested a huge impersonal practice with a telephone setup that was efficient but not effective. Friends suggested doctors that had retired or were not taking new patients. Most are not Medicare Providers. I went to Checkbook.Com, and got a list that people went to the trouble to recommend, but most would not accept my insurance. The nurse of the one who would accept Medicare said to take pepto-bismol and not worry. I didn't bother to make an appointment for two weeks from now. I found a naturopath, who sounded helpful, but alas there is no Medicare coverage for naturopaths. I searched for holistic physicians and found three who charged roughly $500 for the first visit, and $200 for each repeat visit with absolutely no insurance accepted. Oh yes, one was booked 3 months ahead! This morning I found an Integrative Doctor who accepts Medicare, and can see me tomorrow! From a map, it looks like an office in a residential neighborhood. I saw from a list of the practice that there is both a western and ayurvedic approach. Wondering why there are immediate openings, I'll be there. As far as I'm concerned, getting something diagnosed in a manner that will lead to nontoxic help isn't so easy! Rhoda
