Guest guest
My daughter in law´s mother doesn´t have problems with gluten, but she does happen to have one with rice. Hubby and I have to be careful with gluten, but not with rice. I had a quick look on the Internet and found: http://www.speednetllc.com/djw/health/gluten.htm All foods, including rice have the potential to be allergenic, however, and are not exempt from suspicion when adverse food reactions continue on a substitution diet. The most typical symptoms of rice intolerance are heavy fatigue, and chilliness. Rice may also produce the total grain syndrome, although this is uncommon in my experience. Following the core hypo allergenic diet plan, you will simply not miss cereal grains for a while, and find the variety and diversity of other vegetables, sufficient to sustain your interest and nutrition. The biggest challenge is to make the effort to choose different foods, and to prepare them attractively. As far as I know not two people are the same and although something may be considered extremely healthy for the majority of people it might not suit you. For me it gives me the stomach gurgles, disgusting wind/gas etc....... Everything I read tells me that rice is fantastic for ailing digestive systems..... I have just gone gluten free.... I limit myself to the amount of white potato I eat..... usually a half a spud in any two-three week period.... one ONLY slice of GF bread with breakfast, no pastries etc that are not made with GF flours....... I like rice but it does not seem to like me....... can anyone relate? Clare in Tas
