Guest guest
Just plain white rice? Cooked enough? Long grain? "Pudding rice"? I can understand brown rice causing this but not white rice. What do you have with it? Try Farex! Rice pudding? I haven't eaten any starch for 4 weeks - it amazes me that my bowels are normal! But they are! When I went gluten free I would cook polenta with water and then add chopped dates and chopped banana for breakfast or millet meal - cooked in apple juice and add grated apple to it - and when they were cooked only then add a little honey and maybe some cream .......... For me it gives me the stomach gurgles, disgusting wind/gas etc....... Everything I read tells me that rice is fantastic for ailing digestive systems..... I have just gone gluten free.... I limit myself to the amount of white potato I eat..... usually a half a spud in any two-three week period.... one ONLY slice of GF bread with breakfast, no pastries etc that are not made with GF flours....... I like rice but it does not seem to like me....... can anyone relate? Clare in Tas
Guest guest
regarding my digestive system and rice: I have been using plain white rice - cooked properly....... either boiled in water, or cooked in coconut cream. Because I figured it would be /should be the LEAST offensive to my digestive system according to most things I have been reading it is GLUTEN FREE non allergenic etc etc etc..... a simple substance that should not offend my gut. I can tell you truthfully that for me..... this simple non allergenic substance causes gas, pain and deep discomfort to my digestive system. I understand and mostly agree with the folks who said eat BROWN RICE becuase it still has all the nutrient value and fiber, but when you entire gut from mouth to anus is groaning in agony, I figured a simple food.... less complex would be a good starting point. BYE BYE rice....... you just do not agree with me. I thank you all for writing and insights you are sharing. Guest guest
Hi Clare, I’m not sold on rice either, I think the key is to chew it a lot if you do eat it, and don’t eat it often, or you can sprout it, which makes it more easy to digest. Brown rice is good for vit a and other stuff… but there are lots of other foods that contain this too, so it’s not a necessity if you really don’t like it.
