within your body. To put it lightly, your skin is an integral part of your

life. It's essential that you care for it and maintain it in a healthy state so

A baby's skin is very sensitive. Before you use any baby linens or baby clothes

for the first time, wash the items in a hypoallergenic detergent or soap

formulated for babies. Also, use only soap or bath solution meant for babies

when you bathe your infant. Adult products are too harsh for a young baby's

skin.

Healthy, beautiful skin does not come in a bottle or magic

potion. And although some people may just have naturally flawless and supple

skin, most of us have to work at it. Your skin is the largest organ of your

body, and the health of your skin acts as a gauge for your overall health and

well-being. Caring for you skin should be part of your daily health and beauty

regime.

The face

The face can be broken up into several distinct zones. These

zones are then closely connected to other biological systems within the body.

If you're experiencing some form of facial skin disorder in one of these zones,

you should take a close look at its sister zone to determine the true source of

your problem.

http://www.skin-care-support.org/skin-care/oily-skin-care.html

Oily skin

People with oily skin are usually well aware of their skin

type. The oil in the skin is produced by special oil glands known as sebaceous

glands. These glands are bigger and more concentrated on the neck, chest, and

back areas Oily skin tends to be shiny, thick, and prone to black heads and

acne. Oily skin contains an excessive amount of sebum, or the oils produced by

the body to lubricate the skin. Oily skin also tends to attract more dirt and

dust than dry skin.

The skin

The skin is the largest organ of the body. It's also the

most visible, so both the health and appearance of the skin is very important.

The health of the skin is a fairly accurate mirror of the health of the body.

The skin also acts as a protective physical barrier against injury and harmful

toxins. But the skin is highly susceptible to disease. At one time or another,

nearly everyone, from infants to the elderly will have some type of skin

disease. In fact, nearly 15% of all general doctor visits involve some form of

skin problem.

Dry skin

By

Dr. Edward F. Group III, DC, ND, DACBN

Dry skin is sensitive and uncomfortable unless frequently moisturized. Dry skin

has a low level of sebum and usually looks parched or chalky due to its

inability to retain moisture. Chapping and cracking are signs of extremely dry,

dehydrated skin. And dry skin is often worse in the winter, when dry heat and

extreme cold combine to rob even more moisture away from the skin. Wind, air

conditioning, and over exposure to the sun can also cause the skin to flake,

chap and feel tight. Dry skin tends to look dull, especially on the cheeks and

around the eyes
