I am in a dilemma and would like to know if anyone hashad an Endoscopy done with my symptoms etc... I'm at apoint I don't know what to do. I've had Grave's for 7years and take Methimazole. I am choking when Iswallow bread, french fries etc. This is very scary asI have severe asthma also. The regular doctor sent mefor an ultrasound of the thyroid (results attached)and I'm scheduled for an Endoscopy Tuesday... I dohave acid reflux so there is a chance I have astricture. I feel that the thyroid is pressing on mywindpipe and it is really scaring me :( In addition tothis I also have a hypoechoic nodule on my thyroid. My thyroid is a little enlarged according to theultrasound...but I'm wondering if it's enlargedbackwards towards my windpipe? I feel like it ispressing on my windpipe and this is very scary. I'mafraid to have it removed afraid I will get a worseautoimmune disease that will attack another part of mybody... Those that have had it removed: did you feellike you couldn't breath after the surgery fromswelling on the incision? Did you gain weight? Do youregret removing it? I tried to email Elaine, whom Ireally trust, and she is not online today so I thoughtI'd post my thoughts and questions to see what othersthink too :) I really really would love to go intoremission. I read about medullary thyroid cancer andit's scared me to death. I also have an upset stomachwhich can be one of the symptoms. My endo said to haveanother ultrasound in 6 months that it's too small tobiopsy. My regular doctor is sending me for a ct withinfusion.....
