Hello,

I've been lurking here for a while now. I have 6 amalgams to remove. I've done some chelation with Dr. Natura's products. I am doing a lot of research before I let anyone touch these amalgams though.

A few days ago I was eating popcorn and my tooth cracked. Unfortunately I swallowed a piece of it and it was an amalgam one. Oh well....I'm still here but I went to a dentist that is listed on the website you all post here. I forget the name of it now. He said it's a tooth that has a root canal in it and he wants to crown it. From my research it seems like extraction would be better? I also have 2 lower missing teeth that were extracted and he wants to put in implants. I thought these weren't good either? I also asked him if the mercury is leaching out more since the tooth is chipped. He said no but I think it would. He also does root canals if necessary. This concerns me. Of course I wouldn't let him do one on me.

I'm thinking pull all my darn teeth and get dentures! I'm 44 but I'd rather be healthy than have a great smile. These dentists think everyone can afford thousands of dollars for implants. HAH! I do have good insurance but what do you all think? I've had a partial for one of my teeth and it was very uncomfortable to wear even after being adjusted several times.

I'm in Tenn. if anyone has a recommendation.

Thanks so much!

Hi, I'm no expert, but have had my amalgums removed and have been seeing alternative dentists for about 10 years. The choices you make really would depend on your present state of health. Until recently most alt. dentists were against root canals. A few years back a supposed substance, can't recall the name cal-something, was developed to fill the root of the tooth that seemed to be bio compatible and techniques were developed that had a better track record for keeping the tooth from further decay. Some people who feel relatively healthy may go for that option. People who are already immune compromised any root canals wouln't be a good idea. What you might consider doing is finding a credible alternative or biological dentist and even if may mean traveling a distance go to the best one you can find. There are websites where you can find referals. I see a dentists in

Wash, DC who I highly reccomend. You can email me privately for that if you like. But I'd bet there are many good ones nearby. You shold try and get tested to see if you have any cavitations. That will tell you what teeth may or may not need to go. Sometimes cavitations can be taken care w/o surgery, but with ozone injections or such . Sometimes you need to have surgery. Some people can tolerate implants. Seems like titanium is the least reactive metal of choice. Again, depends on how healthy you are. I'm not sure if detoxing prior to removal of the mercury is a good idea or not. Some of the more experienced people here would know better than I. But a detox protocol of some sort is ver important, at least during and after the mercury removal. Continue doing your homework and find a dentist you feel good about.

Good luck. tammyco5 wrote: Hello, I've been lurking here for a while now. I have 6 amalgams to remove. I've done some chelation with Dr. Natura's products.
