It speeds up metabolism and thus is helpful in losing weight. Guest guest Posted July 7, 2007 Report Share Posted July 7, 2007 I've been using coconut oil for a couple years or so, using 1 or tbsps a day. I think it is more helpful for me than the omega 3 oils. Based on kinesiological testing I need the coconut oil, and since starting to take it I never need fish oil or flax oil. Good fats are essential to our diets, whereas the oils go rancid and cause oxidation of our tissues.
