To the tragedy currently unfolding upon the World’s smallest Continentof Australia we can read as reported by Britain’s Independent NewsService in their article titled "Australia's epic drought: The situationis grim", and which says: "Australia has warned that it will have to switch off the water supplyto the continent's food bowl unless heavy rains break an epic drought -heralding what could be the first climate change-driven disaster tostrike a developed nation. The Murray-Darling basin in south-eastern Australia yields 40 per centof the country's agricultural produce. But the two rivers that feed theregion are so pitifully low that there will soon be only enough waterfor drinking supplies. Australia is in the grip of its worst drought onrecord, the victim of changing weather patterns attributed to globalwarming and a government that is only just starting to wake up to theseverity of the position. The Prime Minister, John Howard, a hardened climate- change sceptic, delivered dire tidings to the nation's farmers yesterday. Unless thereis significant rainfall in the next six to eight weeks, irrigation willbe banned in the principal agricultural area. Crops such as rice, cottonand wine grapes will fail, citrus, olive and almond trees will die, along with livestock. A ban on irrigation, which would remain in place until May next year, spells possible ruin for thousands of farmers, already debt-laden and indespair after six straight years of drought." FSB sources commenting on these reports state that the Australiangovernment request to other Western Nations are for the establishment ofan International ‘working group’ tasked with devising a scheme for the‘immediate’ evacuation of upwards of 11 million human beings. These reports further state that such a scheme is indeed workable due tothe accelerated growth of the Western cruise ship industry over the pasttwo decades; and which has seen World-Wide capacity reach to over500,000 passengers…with just two of these industries giants, Carnivaland Norwegian Cruise Lines, having nearly 60,000 capacities alone. With this giant capacity, and again according to these reports, it is‘entirely feasible’ for Australia, or any Nation, to evacuate up to 10million of its citizens in just 6 months time, with the main questionbeing, of course, where to bring them? The most likely destination would be the vast wilderness areas of NorthAmerica, including Alaska and Canada, and which according to the latestscientific reports of Global Warming will be one of the only areas onEarth to benefit from the vast climate changes taking place in ourWorld. What remains an ‘unknown’, at this time, would be the reaction of otherof the World’s Nations to the mass resettlement of climate changerefuges by the West, but which some of America’s top military officershave warned the United States to be prepared for, and as we can read asreported by the Bloomberg News Service in their article titled "GlobalWarming Equals True Equivalent of War", and which says: "You know climate change has become a top priority in Washington when itstarts penetrating the thinking of leaders in the U.S. military andintelligence community. Eleven retired generals and admirals have sentout a warning shot about national-security threats from climate change, calling it a ``threat-multiplier'' that will make unstable regionsshakier through increased drought, extreme weather, migrations andrising extremism." The United Nations has, likewise, warned about these dangers, and as wecan read as reported by the Houston Chronicle News Service in theirarticle titled "Weather wars", and which says: "In a groundbreaking debate at the United Nations Security Council lastweek, diplomats raised the chilling specter of large areas of the worldtorn by armed conflicts among populations beset by flood, drought andother side effects of climate change. Pressing the case that globalwarming represents a threat to international security, British ForeignSecretary Margaret Beckett told the council "an unstable climate willexacerbate some of the core drivers of conflict, such as migratorypressures and competition for resources." Most surprising of these World shaking events remains the perplexingattitude of the Americans, and who, seemingly, continue to ignore thegrave implications of this dire threat. The same cannot be said of their Top Military Leaders who have, literally, gone to war with the entire World based upon the horrific2004 Pentagon assessment of climate change, and its consequences, and aswe can read as reported by Britain’s Guardian Unlimited News Service intheir article titled "Now the Pentagon tells Bush: climate change willdestroy us", and which says: “Climate change over the next 20 years could result in a globalcatastrophe costing millions of lives in wars and natural disasters. A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by TheObserver, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath risingseas as Britain is plunged into a 'Siberian' climate by 2020. Nuclearconflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt acrossthe world. The document predicts that abrupt climate change could bring the planetto the edge of anarchy as countries develop a nuclear threat to defendand secure dwindling food, water and energy supplies. The threat toglobal stability vastly eclipses that of terrorism, say the few expertsprivy to its contents. 'Disruption and conflict will be endemic features of life,' concludesthe Pentagon analysis. 'Once again, warfare would define human life.” It would, perhaps, be instructive to these American people to follow theexamples of their fellow human beings, from all around the World, who inknowing these things, and as the spring sun continues to shine, haveceased all of their ordinary activities to begin the planting of cropsand vegetables for their own, and their families, security through thecoming year. © April 29, 2007 EU and US all rights reserved.http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index1006.htm -- Sorcha Faal sorchafaal
