They last much better than leaving them out, that's for sure. As a matter of fact we were in town today and the first thing we did on getting home was put the bananas into the fridge. Actually putting them in the fridge, even if they turn black, we have found is a good way to keep them from getting too ripe and mushy and they don't go to waste.
