Guest guest
<OttoKelly Dear Raven: Let me tell you what I did yesterday. I took numerous cases and bags of wet and dry cat and dog foods back to Wallyworld. Informed them, "This is what is left, after two dead dogs." The manager, gave me a refund, in store credit card, for the value of the returned foods. The manager informed me, "Not all of the returned products, were on the recall list they had. Their people are keeping tabs on the recall products daily. Ya Right! They are only recalling, according to Wallyworlds executives, small packages of dog and cat foods. Very few, if any of the dry foods. They are not recalling the larger cans of the SAME product that contains the SAME dog and cat foods. How could this be???? These are the items, on the very earliest recall lists from Menu Foods Investment Corp. they have NO DATA of the current recalls! SOOOO, WHAT IS HAPPENING AT WALLIES STORES, The contaminated recalled foods, according to management are not contaminated, EXCEPT, THEY ARE!, they are being put right back on the shelves. WHAT A FARCE! I had several 5 gallon plastic buckets of dry food, which I did not return to the store. Asking the manager about them, he replied to me, "I'll refund your purchase price for these , do not bring the buckets of feed back. Go into our store and bring me the bags of feed you thermosphere to the buckets so I can get the bar codes to refund your money. " How sweet. The two bags of dry food I picked up to take back to the Managers Offices, had already been returned by previous purchasers. They forgot to remove the tags affixed to the bags , when they were returned to the store. Oh My God !!! The previous week in Wallyworld, There was a large, new section in the People section of the Food side of the store. It was full of DISCOUNTED PET FOODS. ALPO was one of the brands on the shelves. I was so pissed off and hurt, due to our pets deaths, because of the tainted food, I did not want to see all the tainted brands on the shelves. FDA is coming by Wallyworlds and picking up the returned products. Wonder what they are doing with it? trying to find something our dogs and wolfs would eat, I purchased the cooler sections, Plastic salami like wrapped hamburger 20% fat for people. Dogs nor wolfs would eat the stuff, raw or dry. Now thats scarey, The hamburger is for people, I wonder what it has in it that the wolfs can detect and humans can not? The chicken hind quarters were tried by me also. The dogs and wolfs would not eat the skin nor touch any of the drippings, nor anything with the drippings poured on them, cooked or raw. Now what are they putting on the outside of the chicken skin? this stuff is for human consumption, but the wild animals will not eat it. this is really scarey also. Guest guest
Ive been buying beef heart from wally world, cutting it up in small pieces, frying it up in the skillet and mixing it with minute rice. our dogs have been eating that ( and loving it I might add) ever since the fiasco started. the heart might be kind of rich but they love it. - Raven . ; . Guest guest
I was told that Walmart’s meats are packed in China and formaldehyde is used to keep it “fresh” so they can put an expiration date that is 3 weeks after the packaging. If you stick a pen into the plastic wrapping and have your nose right by the hole, you will smell the formaldehyde rush out. I haven’t bought any meat products from them since I heard this. I’m not positive, but I think I got it from Dr. Deagle (some time back) from the Nutrimedical radio show. On Behalf Of Raven Monday, April 09, 2007 1:34 AM . ; . MedicalConspiracies@google ; . Guest guest
I get a great deal of my information from Dr. Bill Deagle and Dr. Nick Begich, in addition to various scientists and doctors they interview. I have done the pencil test myself, and regardless of how long it’s packaged for (I have heard 3 weeks from more than one source), the formaldehyde smell was obvious in both packages I poked. I am talking (in particular) about the white-trayed ground beef and cut meat products. I have no reason to believe that similar products under recognized brand names have any part of this practice. Guest guest
Actually, their meats are packaged in Modified Atmosphere Packaging, as are many other brands & stores case-ready meats. Here's an excerpt from an online article about the process as it pertains to Walmart, Tyson, and a couple of other major retailers/suppliers. The link to the entire article is below the quoted material. Angel"The product that is at retail right now in a barrier tray, that you would see at a Wal-Mart, would have an atmosphere in the package that would consist of 80 percent oxygen and 20 percent CO 2 [carbon dioxide ]," Sheneman said. "The atmosphere this is in helps the shelf life, but it also keeps the red color of beef. In a vacuum [package ], the meat turns purple." Gas flushing is used across the food sector, Sheneman notes. "A lot of people don't realize there is modified atmosphere used in most food packaging, including bagged salads and potato chips," he said. Steve Seideman, an extension food processing specialist for the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, said nitrogen is used to flush bags of potato chips to keep the snacks from spoiling. Salads also are usually packaged in an atmosphere of nitrogen and carbon dioxide to extend the shelf life, he said. "We can get food from all over the world and have it arrive safe," he said. "Garden fresh salads, fresh asparagus in January. It would be hard to have asparagus year-round if companies didn't do it [gas packaging ]." Only meat has been approved for carbon monoxide use, he said. "Carbon monoxide has traditionally been illegal because it'll make meat real bright red, and it hides the way the consumers judge freshness," Seideman said. "There is some concern it will keep it red longer. It's not a health issue at all. It's bound to the meat, so it doesn't get into your blood, unless you take in a vapor, and at that level, your body will get rid of it and replace it with oxygen." Complete article:http://walmart.nwanews.com/wm_story.php?paper=adg & storyid=149249The solution that is pumped into Walmart ( & other) packaged meats is a combo of salt, water, & phosphates. Lactate is added to this solution for pork products.
