How do you find out if your bed is sprayed with likely sprayed with

PBDE's? I " m already doing everything else but the spray thing is new

to me. And even if it was I couldn't afford a new one. I wish I would

have known that before I got the one one. And what is PBDE?

Thanks, Joyce

I already disposed of my bed because I was tired of my kids falling off of it, but I'm wondering if it would be possible for Joyce or others that are sensitive, to cover the bedding with something to seal it. Has anyone had success with that? I was just as concerned about dust mites as I was about the out gassing. I'm so used to sleeping on the floor now, that when we travel, I continue to sleep in the floor because the beds cause my body to ache. Kinda backwards, I know. I guess it's just what you get used to. MarlenaJoyce <joylight wrote: How do you find out if your bed is sprayed with likely sprayed with PBDE's? I have been pretty busy so, I figure that some have done their own research on Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE's). For those that haven't, PBDE's are Ether compounds that are used as flame retardants on furniture, bedding, pajamas, mattresses, carpeting, etc. They have been linked to headaches, lung problems, infertility, and many other health problems. You can call the manufacturer of your mattress to see if it has been sprayed with PBDE's. Also, there is a company called Spring Air that stopped using the PBDE's. They use Kevlar under the top fabric instead. Organic mattress companies are far more intellegent and they use wool matting which has its own natural flame retardant properties. I would advise everyone that can afford it, to buy an organic mattress. Flame retardants aren't the only problem with most mattresses. California is in the process of banning flame retardants at this time. California leads the nation in

banning toxic substances because there are so many people who are active in petitioning the government to take action. California has already banned amalgam fillings, the solvent used in dry cleaners, PBDE's, etc. Hopefully fluoride will be next. I would encourage all of you to go to google and do more research of your own. I hope that this information is beneficial to you. Joyce, if you are already doing everything that I suggested and you are still having problems, then there are things that you could do and are not doing that will help you including emotional relief techniques. I have been successfull in eliminating this condition for people. The right herbs and modalities have to be applied to get relief. If you are going to a M.D. you are most likely wasting your time. You will need to go to a competant professional that uses kinesiology to eliminate the problem.JerryJoyce <joylight
