you want to keep your children " away " them; and you won't have them over for

dinner. Where have I heard these attitudes before? I assume you also have

separate bathrooms and drinking fountains for us.

Oh, please. Some of us don't like the hectic life, " doing the family "

thing offers.

* It is a financial burden.

* It keeps me from doing what I want to do 100% of the time.

* Conflicts gallore

* Overpopulation by making more babies that this world cannot sustain

indefinitely.

* " have you seen what college costs are??? "

There are many more but I'm only spending a few minutes on this...

No, I am not one of those that harbors 50 cats, 20 dogs, and hangs out

at singles bars for my existence. I am surrounded by friends, and

don't have anything keeping me to one place. You are overgeneraizing,

and that's the problem with minimal thinkers like you: Defining

everything as black and white, ignoring the grays and the colors.

I like my " space " , which means that being alone, either in a city or in

the middle of nowhere is appealing to me, without having to hear

conflict or feel I have to be the " lead entertainer " of my family (that

will never exist).

Signed,

Happily SINGLE

neighborhood children to " do chores, mow lawn, etc " . I carefully warn my kids,

" No, stay away from those sort " . Though I do pity them. They are often the ones

raided by the police for " having 57 cats " or taking in dozens of stray dogs.

What they are desperately trying to do is: fill the natural void in their

psyche, which should have been fulfilled in having a family. Sure, we all have

that " Uncle Elmer " or " Auntie Mabel " who never married...for unspecified

reasons. And, they don't exactly brighten up the Holidays, if we ever invite

them over for dinner. No need to say further.
